Hi, I am new here too. I think I use to come here a long time ago under my old married name.

I have a silver tiny toy poodle who is 11 weeks old and weighs a whopping 1 1/4 pounds.

I have a question. Does it take longer to housebreak a tiny dog over say a regular size toy?

How long on average should it take to housebreak a puppy?

Hi There! I am New here too! :)

I am not sure if it would take longer......I think it just depends on how much time and devotion you have to put into that matters......But who knows i could be wrong.

Do you have any pics him/her?

Reply about Sassy

I want to tell you all that this little tiny poodle as tiny as she is house broke herself almost. After only taking her out one day she "got it." She goes to the door but does not say anything and if you don't see her she comes and sits in front of you until you ask her. Amazing.

Yes I have some photos of her. Let me see if I can post a couple here.

Here she is at 10 weeks now remember that she weighed 1 1/4 pounds here. At 13 weeks now, I think she weighs 2 pounds.

Welcome !!! I've never had a tiny dog , but I would say that if there are house breaking problems , it's the owner . Many treat them as china teacups and because their piddles and poops are small , they go with with flow rather than correct . An 8 week pup , whether 1 # or 10# should learn the eliminations are outside and outside only !

What a cute puppy!

And I agree, it doesn't matter how big the dog is, that does NOT determine how easy it is to housebreak. Its based on breed really, and toy poodles are very smart dogs (My childhood dog was a toy poodle).

As far as treating her like a china cup

Well we are careful with her as that because she is very fragile, but not when it comes to potty training...no we don't have accidents and ignore them in my house.

She is now 14 weeks and has "got it" as far as going out. She does tell us by raising up on her hind legs onto ours. Other then that we have to figure out if that is what she wants.

Thank you all, I think she is a doll too.

I'm not from the Northwest but I saw from another post that you're near Mt Ranier... my BF's family lives in Enumclaw and it is incredibly beautiful up there! I love visiting the ranch. Welcome!
