I got another offer from someone to buy mojo from me.
Go figure. I can't walk my dog in this neighborhood without getting offers. Last summer when I tried to walk Mojo during the day I had 11-13 year old kids coming up to me trying to buy my "red nosed" pit puppy off of me. I finally stopped walking him around during the day unless I absolutely had to.
Anyway this morning I was taking Mojo out for his morning potty session, when my downstairs neighbor pulled in with another car following her. It was one of her boyfriends? friends? I don't know what his relationship is to her, but he seems to visit at all times of the day, and I have called the cops on him before for trying to break into her home while drunk at 11pm at night before.
So I'm minding my own busines getting a plastic baggie out of my car, when the guy in the car yells out to me "HEY! Is that a puppy? I'll buy him if he's a puppy!"
I looked at Mojo, sighed, shook my head and said "He's 4. He's NOT a puppy."
Guy says "Oh. You sure?"
"Yes."
"Alright." Guy never stopped watching Mojo. I got out of there post-haste... and didn't come back until he had left.
What really bugs me is when I lived on the border of the bad neighborhoods of Chicago I never had this kind of problem. But since I moved this neighborhood if I walk Mojo in his blue harness and leash, I get questioned about his suitability for fighting and/or breeding. My answers are always NO, NO, and NO NO NO NO NO. I've been insulted for having him neutered, and for spoiling a good "red nose."
I'm still paranoid that one of these days I'm gonna come home to find my dog stolen. I need to get out of this neighborhood for no other reason than the safety of my dog. Unfortunately my lease last for another 5 months...
