I got another offer from someone to buy mojo from me.

Go figure. I can't walk my dog in this neighborhood without getting offers. Last summer when I tried to walk Mojo during the day I had 11-13 year old kids coming up to me trying to buy my "red nosed" pit puppy off of me. I finally stopped walking him around during the day unless I absolutely had to.

Anyway this morning I was taking Mojo out for his morning potty session, when my downstairs neighbor pulled in with another car following her. It was one of her boyfriends? friends? I don't know what his relationship is to her, but he seems to visit at all times of the day, and I have called the cops on him before for trying to break into her home while drunk at 11pm at night before.

So I'm minding my own busines getting a plastic baggie out of my car, when the guy in the car yells out to me "HEY! Is that a puppy? I'll buy him if he's a puppy!"

I looked at Mojo, sighed, shook my head and said "He's 4. He's NOT a puppy."

Guy says "Oh. You sure?"

"Yes."

"Alright." Guy never stopped watching Mojo. I got out of there post-haste... and didn't come back until he had left.

What really bugs me is when I lived on the border of the bad neighborhoods of Chicago I never had this kind of problem. But since I moved this neighborhood if I walk Mojo in his blue harness and leash, I get questioned about his suitability for fighting and/or breeding. My answers are always NO, NO, and NO NO NO NO NO. I've been insulted for having him neutered, and for spoiling a good "red nose."

I'm still paranoid that one of these days I'm gonna come home to find my dog stolen. I need to get out of this neighborhood for no other reason than the safety of my dog. Unfortunately my lease last for another 5 months...

And to think, Madison is always voted Best City to live in America. I know because I grew up in Rockford, IL the worst city in America to live in.

MOst of the people I know here in Madison, don't believe there is any pit fighting going on. I always look at them like they are aliens... I am in a pretty rough neighborhood (by Madison standards) mostly black and hispanic... Yet, this is the same mix I lived among in Chicago... and like I said in the original post -- this didn't happen to me down there.

I just don't get it.

PS: I don't think Madison is the best city to live in (personally) it's boring as hell. I'm used to going to museums, zoos, and the aquarium with multitude of clubs available to go dancing in. Madison has very little of any of this... the favorite pass time here is to drink beer and watch football...
