Finally I got called back. Finally. Apparently the reason my calls were never returned nor my message is because the AC officer was out of town.

So, I gave him the information... he's going to try to get there later today, if not, tomorrow morning. I'm not going to be here tomorrow or the day after, so that sucks, but oh well.

The lowdown is: He can't take Middie if he has food, water, and shelter. He won't have the food or the water, so that at least gives the AC officer a chance of taking him. If he takes Middie he will take him to the shelter. BUT... I can only adopt him immediately if they sign over ownership so that AC won't take them to court, then he will be in the shelter until (if) a judge agrees with the AC Officer that he's been mistreated, and they won't be allowed to own an animal for another 5 years. If the judge doesn't agree, he goes back to them.

I highly doubt they'll go to court, they don't have the money for it, or the patience. And the only reason they're keeping him is b/c they think the girls will come back, and possibly a bit of spite, too.

God I hope things go well... The AC officer promised to call me back immediately, regardless of what happens.

Hehehe, I guess it would be OUR case. You are doing most of the work on that since you are closer lol.

I do have my very own case now though. Getting a PB Shar Pei rescued from the local SPCA. Not looking forward to this one though. The SPCA here is impossible to deal with:mad:

What is PB? And have I heard about this? And why on earth is your SPCA impossible to deal with? Yeesh, you'd think they'd want to help..

Yup, purebred. I don't want to hijack your thread but....There was a PB shar pei to be given away in the classifieds here for quite a while. No one wanted him. He has now been handed over to the SPCA. The SPCA here is ridiculous to deal with. If he stays there he will end up being euthanized or in a very bad home. The SPCA doesn't give a crap who adopts animals from there. I contacted a shar pei rescue. I really hope they can get him.

I have been making phone call after phone call trying to get ahold of someone from a rescue that can help me get him out of there. I emailed the SPCA and asked if they would allow him to be sent to a shar pei rescue so I am waiting for an email back from them now.....grrrr I don't like this. So stressful.

Good luck to both of you. I don't know the backstory of the OP's post but good luck anyway! That shar-pei is adorable!
