I used to have bad anger problems.

You need to find the source of your anger. The root of it. When, where, and why it starts.. and attack that.

When you feel yourself getting frustrated, instead of feeding it, starve it. Deep breaths, and remove yourself from the situation if you can.

And start to surround yourself with positive. No more hateful music, people, etc etc etc.

I agree that first you have to get to what is really bothering you. Sometimes it does help to talk to someone who is objective (a counselor, psychologist, paster) who is experienced and can give you the tools to overcome anger issues. Sometimes we just can't work through things such as these on our own.

try googling it. Or look on amazon for some books on it that have gotten good ratings...and read em.

If that doesnt help, it may be worth it to see someone about it...

Good Luck with it :)

Excuse my language. This is from my journal.

December 19th, 2006 – I didn’t have this much anger before we moved to hick town. I never got mad so easily. I hate Monroe. Actually, maybe it’s not Monroe I hate. Maybe it’s moving I hate. I hate moving. I want to go home to Renton. Maybe I wouldn’t get as mad then. Ever since we moved I have been getting mad really easily, especially at my mom. For no apparent reason, either. She asked me to do a chore, I get pissed, she asked me to get up from the computer, I get pissed. I am tired of getting pissed. And it doesn’t cure easily, either. And I am not PMSing. This has been going on for a long time - ever since we moved.

You've won 1/2 the battle by recognizing it . I used to be like a volcano ...spew and rumble until I blew . Finally after banging and breaking things , I realized it was senseless .... Breathing , walking away from the issue and repeating the Serenity saying calms me down . Good luck .

It may also help that if you're already angry, or feel it building up, do something that requires physical force, such as running or playing baseball or something of that nature.

I'm sorry you're feeling that way... I think it's good you keep a journal, I think writing helps to release upsetting emotions like anger, sadness, etc. It sounds like moving was really hard on you... my mom kept losing her job when I was in high school, and I ended up going to three different high schools before I graduated, so I know how it is.

I was always the more emotional angry type...I know what you mean about getting pissed and crying, I always cried when I was really angry, especially when I was younger, and never really knew why I reacted that way, the emotion was just so overwhelming and I couldn't really help it. My brother was more prone to violent anger... shouting, hitting things, etc. He started taking martial arts when he was about 12 and it seemed to really make a difference in helping him control his outbursts. My advice would be to find something you enjoy to focus your mind on, something you can really get involved and lost in, so that you aren't just dwelling on the things that are upsetting you... I hope that you find something that helps

This isn't an insult or poke at you could it be something medical? This is why I ask. I use to have a very short fuse and one minute I'd be laughing 2 seconds later I'd be telling people off then I would be crynig. Went to the doctor for a physical cause it was that time of year and found out I was lacking B12's which causes mood swings and depression when it goes to low. Once I went on vitamins within a few weeks I felt ten times better. Just a thought. Or I usually go exercise my frustrations away.

Yeah, moving was really hard.. and to make it worse it was my first move from a town I had lived in for 8 years. I remember crying my eyes out everyday, feeling horrible everyday, having puffy eyes everyday, and sitting on my window sill and staring at the stars all night, and hugging my cat alot..

Journeling is a really good thing...I'm glad that you're doing that. It's good to get things out, even if it's on paper. Good job!!!!! I'm the type of person that keeps everything inside...I fret about it...think think and think about it. It takes A LOT to make me freak out, but eventually I do. It's really healthy what you're doing witht the journeling.:)
