Zeus and i have ben making a visit to town a normal thing i try to get to town 2-3 times a day. Zeus is finally over his fear of humans from the attack and is back to enjoying himself in town as does Tundra and Babe. So about three days ago I was in town and stopped at my friends tea shop. Her resturaunt is dog friendly to where she even has dog biscuits she offers for sale. Her own two dogs two small Chinese Cresteds a male and a female named Spike and Spider have pretty much the run of the place and are the official greeters lol.

Anyways Zeus loves Annes Tea shop and he loves Spike and Spider too those three are good friends actually. So I was in town like I said and decided I would go in and say hello and let Zeus play with Spike and Spider. When I walked in I was the only one in the shop other then Anne and one of her workers and we were just talking when we hear a customer come in. Now the rules in the shop is that yes animals can come in but they must be well behaved and quiet. They must also be leashed at all times now they can walk around with the leash on the floor but the leash MUST me on. The only dogs who don't need a leash are hers. The rules are posted clearly on the outside of her shop window and she has never had a problem before.

Anyways Zeus was laying his normal way with his back legs streatched out tounge lolling out wagging his tail and playfuly pawing at Spider and mouthing her face while she mouthed his. The occasionaly playful growl or bark was sounded but nothing out of the ordinary just typical Zeus with a friend. All of a sudden i hear this angry barking and hear claws on the ground coming my way. Next thing I know this little unleased Pug/Beagle (I refuse to use the designer dog term) is going after Zeus. Zeus being a lover not a fighter is up on his feet pushed back against me ears back whining looking up at me like " help me! help me mum! this little dog is nuts!!!". The Pug/beagle is barking and growling and did bite Zeus twice. i did'nt kick him but tried to move him aside with my foot on one of his attacks.

Seemed like it took forever for the dogs over to contain his dog. And guess who was the bad guy? I WAS yup all my fault for bringing one of those vicouse pitbulls into a public place. I was told that I'd better pray his dog wasent injured because if it was I would be paying. I looked over Zeus and saw a bite wound not too seriouse but bleeding. His dog however was not. I went off im sorry but i have been polite for too long. I went off and said "well your dog attacked my dog who by the way is injured see the blood? And you have to be blind to say this was my fault. YOUR dog was loose which is against the rules in this building, YOUR dog is not well trained and does not obviousely have manners in public which is against the rules in this building, and your an ignorent asshole and that SHOULD be against the rules in this building! My dog did not even growl or raise his hackles he was petrifide of your dog and I don't blame him! Tell you what I think you should be the one handing money over to me back of MY dogs pain and suffering." I mean I was screaming at him in his face and he did'nt look to happy lol. He tried to fight back but I pretty back chewed him out to the point and it was just alot of "ums and uhhhh wells" lol ridiculas really.

Eventually Anne asked if he could leave her facility please. When he asked when I was not asked to leave she explained that she saw the whole thing and his dog did infact attack mine and he was in the wrong. Zeus is fine and I feel alot better too. I swear though the idiots never stop coming  .

Ugh. Idiots and fools. I'm glad Zeus is all right. It's sad how it's always the pit bull's fault. It happened to me with my pit. Fools.

Well, if there wasn't born every minute, I guess the ecomoy would crash...

You just can't get a break can you? Poor Zeus! I'm glad you went off on that guy, that should (but probably won't) teach him to not have his dog off leash. What would have happened if Pug/Beagle had gone after a different dog and had his face bitten? The P/B owner would have been at fault for not having his dog under control.

I think we should all pitch in and buy Zeus a big basket of doggie goodies. How many other dogs do you know would put up with this much crap and still be as nice and sweet and non-aggressive?

Maybe Zeus could learn Shiva's technique . . . you know, the one where she acts like a big, innocent angel, then checks to make sure no one is looking and silently pulls her lips back and shows the other dog AAAAAAL of her teeth :D

He is definatly one of a kind. It just completely pushed me over the edge I mean its horrible when ANOUTHER dog tries to attack my dog and my dog is scared of it and just really trying not to fight. But which dog gets blamed? My dog because of stupid breed stereotypes  .

I know what you mean. I'm trying to help this lady get her pittie to stop jumping on her when she comes to pick him up from daycare (nice work pants and claws don't mix), so yesterday I was holding him on a short lead in a 'sit' while she ignored him until he calmed down. Eventually it worked to the point that she could take the lead and leave and another client had walked in and said something to the effect of "That dog shouldn't be allowed in here." Then we bring out his psycho Lab who drags me down the hall and jumps all over him and of course, that's just fine.

How can I say this politely? What a Jackass! Yup that is as polite as I can be when people are down right stupid.

Good for you for sticking up and chewing the idiot out. He deserved it big time.

I hope Zeus does not suffer any long time effects over this and I hope he is alright! Poor innocent doggy.

I can so relate to this story. Im completely on the side of poster.

Big dogs or breeds with reputation always get blamed for no reason.

Obviously you don't know Scarlette at all. She's an awesome owner and did everything she could to protect Zeus. They have a bond few people are fortunate enough to have with their dogs.
