An extremely strange question

I cannot believe I'm asking this....

Is it all right for Zeus to have tabasco sauce?

Yes, the weirdo actually likes it. We tried initially using it as a deterrant to keep him from eating the trash. Instead of stopping him, he kept trying to lick up as much of it as possible.

My husband, when we have buffalo wings, gives Zeus bits of meat saturated with tabasco. And Zeus loves it. Is this safe for dogs? I'm asking because it's been on my mind, and we're having buffalo wings tonight.

i would say no, but I dont know whats in it? as will a lot of things just because the dog likes it it doesnt mean its good for them, a bit like us and cakes lol

Heheh . . . Zeus is a Fila in training My bunch likes anything hot and spicy. I tried to break Shiva of counter surfing by putting habaneros on the counters . . . she ate 'em. She loves 'em. They will do anything to steal the containers of salsa verde and salsa habanero we bring home from the local taquiera.

I've also had a cat who ate my chili - which very few people can do full strength, lol!

Capsaicin (what makes chiles hot) is good for all sorts of things! I sure wouldn't worry too much.

My cat loves chili too, even the spicy stuff. Go figure. I don't think it's good for them either though.

I'd watch if it causes any sort of digestive upset. If not, a little bit here and there certainly isn't a problem. Don't go overboard tho.

anyway, it's definitely not good for them. i would say it's almost as bad as chocolate. The spice gets to their stomach...and does SOMETHING, i guess.
