Oh, Aussie. You are a truly remarkable person. I know that Allie know's that she is loved. You have stuck by her and provided for her when others would have looked the other way. ((HUG)) Bless you.

ty so much bp. I love her and it is as simple as that. I can't look the other way. It wasn't her fault she was born and had a bad home. I will still go see her.

You made the right decision, it will be okay and she will be happy. Everything happens for a reason, and everything will turn out ok. I'm very sorry.

Honestly, I feel like I am reading about my beloved Pandora. She too was ruined by abuse before she came to our shelter. Unfortuanatly, we ended up having her PTS after she became too dangerous to be safe. Like you, I found out that sometimes loving them still isn't enough. Was Allie an ACD? Pandora was. Just kills me to know that someone else is going through the heartbreak I did.

You did all you could do. I know what it feels like to give it all you got, and not have it work out the way you hoped. I am so sorry. I am thankful there is a place for Allie to live, and not be PTS and continue what you started. I am sure all the love you gave her made a difference, and will help her as she continues to learn. Will pray for Allie for her continued improvement, and for your heart that is broken. I commend you for the depth of your faithfulness and love to her. You did the right thing.

OMG!Im so sorry.Hey,you did your best. You are a legend for trying.Damm, the previous people who had her.I had the same sort of experience with a dog who came from abusive owners.Though I had the heartbreak of getting him PTS.It was heartbreaking for me and my son.I could find no one to take him on at all.At least Allie has somewhere to live now.My heart goes out to you.

Wow, I am amazed at the size of your wonderful heart! I am so sad for your loss but you absolutely did the right thing. I am even sadder for poor Allie who was clearly so dreadfully abused that she could never recover. Dogs are the most wonderful, forgiving animals in the world - I once saw a dog who'd been so badly abused, with such terrible injuries, she was going to be pts because they didn't think she'd survive. Four months later and she is with a loving couple who have another rescue, too (older, though) and she is a sweet, loving girl with barely a shadow of her former fear. I cannot think what has happened to your poor Allie that she cannot ever get over it. I am so pleased to hear that there is a place where she can live though, without having to be pts for something that was never her fault.

My heart goes out to you and to her, and I am very proud of you, and happy that you can continue to be part of her life. Hugs, hugs and more hugs.

I haven't been on in a long time as I have been tring to work with Allie and correct some very serious behavioral problems with her and it was not to be. She has attacked Whiskey causing severe damage and me then a week ago my husband had his hand nearly severed by her. Some days she would be so sweet and then others she would pace and go nurotic on us. I hired a trainer to help us to get her over this and it was not to be. After three months of training and redirecting her triggers and us giving her all the love and encouragement we could I had to make a very heartbreaking choice to remove her from our home and it is still hurting me. I did have to put Whiskey, Betty Jean and Sally Annes well being and happiness first as well as my hubbys and mine. I come to you with a heavy heart today and ask that all of you understand that I tried to give this lovely girl a good loving home and did everything I could do to get her over her hatred and mistrust of people but failed to do so. Allie will not be PTS and will live out her days on a ranch for unadoptable dogs. The people there are dedicated to continuing her rehab and making her life happy. They are better equiped to deal with her then I was. Still it makes my heart break and the anger in me is at an explosive leavel towards her past owners who abussed this sweet animal so badly she can not forget and forgive.I can go out and see Allie and that helps very little as I really fell deeply in love with her and feel that I failed her yet I know I did what I could and I can't undo what had been done. Thank you Jess for asking about my health and I am well but very heartsick. I have been consummed with tring to fix Allie and now have to live with the fact that I could not and it is not an easy thing for me to do because I like to believe that with enough compassion and love you can conquer the bad. Life Learning Lesson for me I guess. Anyway let me say that I have missed all my Chaz friends and will need you to help me get over this because a part of me is feeling that I have really let her down. My heart is so heavy.
aww. aussie red. sorry you had to go through this. but its part of life i suppose :( not a nice part but its just more experience to take on

I am so amazed you found a place to take her. We had a dog that was mentally ill and were not so lucky. ((((((HUGS)))))) to you for trying.

Just saw this post today... curious to hear if you've had a progress report on her yet. You did the most responsible thing for the dog and your family. Not all dogs can be rehabilitated. If keeping them alive is seriously contemplated, then finding the safest environment for them, that still provides a good quality of life is something you (and your dog) were very lucky to find. On top of that, finding an owner still willing to help financially, still willing to be involved emotionally, after everything you've been thru, is rare. I've helped re-home many dogs like this and for as many as were able to be "saved", many others had to be PTS. I'd consider yours, a success story!!

I'm so sorry you're heart is aching. (((hugs))) I think you went above and beyond. She has a good place to be now and you did what is best for her, your other dogs and your family. You had to. Be glad for her now. I really think you did the best thing.

I am sorry that I haven't responded to this as I have been away from Chaz for some time now so I will try to update you all.
Allie is doing much better and is helping Julie and angie herd the 4 cows they have and does not snap at the horses anymore. She goes out with the ladies when they go riding. She has nipped Angie but it was not a bad bite just a nip.since she is working everyday I see much improvement in her.
She is very happy to see me when I come by. I brought her a nice xmas package of chews, toys and new collar. Also got my two new friends nice smelly goods for xmas. It is hard to not take her home with me but I know I can't because she still snaps and growls at Whiskey. I believe that she has fallen in love with Julie and I know Julie loves her. They have let her take up residence in the house now and say she is great in there and sleeps in bed with Julie now. Julie said that I can now relinquish all responsibility because she is going to permantly keep her but I will still pay for her medical insurance. I owe her that and I still want to visit her.

It sounds like she is doing well and has a real job herding which may be just exactly what she needed. That is good to know that she's having a fulfilling life. You did a good job finding her just the right place.

:hail: :hail: I'm so glad that Allie had you to help her with her issues, including finding a safe place for her to live. I'm sure that it's still hard for you but you've done such a great thing for her. I'm happy to hear that you get to visit her and see what you're efforts have done for her life.
Sounds like a job is something that she really needed. I've encountered many dogs who were bred to work who needed just what you've given to Allie by sending her to her new home with cows to herd. Good for you....((((((hugs)))))):)
