Nevermind, sorry didn't mean to toot my own horn. I've done rescue work with OTHER peoples help. They need just as much credit as I do the people who have helped me are the best people in the world. $100,000 came from me, my husband, several friends, a huge donation from my grandfathers work, my grandparents, mother, uncle, etc. They are great people too!

I absolutely adore rats. If they were legal in this country I'd certainly be looking for a rescue to adopt some from! I really admire your work with rescue rodents. They can be a real handful, as many times they come into rescue very badly socialised and can be really difficult to handle. Good for you!

That's quite a life you've already been through. You sound like you're finding your way to better times now and I'm happy for you and glad you've found your way here to Chazhound as well. :)

Good for you.....though to me, talking about the money you've spent etc is not really needed, there are folks that over the years I'm sure have spent as much (or more) but there are others that though they would love to spend it, can't afford it, and to me, seeing these comments aren't really fair or nice to them.

When it comes to ANY charity, I feel that it is a totally personal thing, to what charity(ies) one donates, and how much. I wouldn't tell or ask anyone else what, who, or why they donate. I will state that my charities of choice tend to be Diabetes, heart and stroke, or cancer, since I've lost friends and family to all of them.

As to what you have for accounts.....I really don't care, though kudos to you for having emergency funding sitting aside.

Tell me about it, lol, I've had so many rats bite into my fingers - I've had so many band-aids. I could more than likely sponsor the band-aid company just off the band-aids I use :)

I'm sorry that you feel that way, but I just put it up there because I wanted to know that I am willing to go to any lengths to take care of a dog. Even if it is not my own :) I don't just get a dog, then throw it aside when it gets boring. I have a tendency to make post that people read, or look at in a different light then when I original post them :( I'm sorry.

Like the Dane you just got then no less than 12 hours rehomed... and are already looking to add another dog... none of which is a Dane like you say is the only breed for you.

I'm sorry... but I don't buy any of your BS.

Ok, I gave it to someone who could take care of it better. I did this because after reading post I felt that perhaps my knowledge was not what I thought it was, not because I didn't care about the dog.

However, I will not argue - you can believe what you will.

It's usually not a good idea to post a lot of personal information on the internet - you never know who is looking.

Quick question - $100,000 on your rescues? That's a lot of money for less than three years - that's 40,000 per year. I don't know any 16 year olds that make 40 grand a year... wish I made that much when I was in high school!

It wasn't just me, it was people around me - so I guess I should've added that. I've had help with donations from friends and family, sorry :)

ETA: There I added that in.

Congratulations PaperHearts-- sounds like after everything you've been through you finally worked out the problems and now have a stable life. Admirable to see how many dogs you've fostered , it takes a lot of hard work to foster that many.

Sooo 100 000 to throw around yet you post pics of your dog in a rusty martingale..
100,000 in donations made to help the dogs, not to buy them new things - I'm sorry. It wasn't just me it was help from other people too, like my husband and my family and the friends who help me.

With help of course, my husband helps out! I couldn't do it without him :)

Well...since we're horn blowing, in one year we fostered between 7 and 10 JRT's, on top of the 4-6 we had of our own (can't remember the exact numbers) and most of those JRTS that we fostered were here because they had bite histories, had been abused, we deemed unadoptable from the shelters which they came from.

I've been bite more times then I can count anymore, I have scars that are likely going to stick with me the rest of my life from trying to hand feed (nothing in life is free) some of these poor abused dogs.

As far as posting...it's taken me 2 years to reply as many times on here as you will in a week with your current rate. Ask any poster on here, my replies are always informative and often thought provoking.

Most of the other forums I'm on have sayings such as "come in, sit back, have a cold beer (or whatever drink is your choice), and as you get to know us, join in" Coming in with sledgehammers flying and 'woe is me, I've been abused' isn't anything we haven't seen in here, there are many here that have troubled pasts, though most of them I would help out in person, financially or in other ways because I KNOW them (have met well over a dozen chazzers in person) and not one of them came in here slapping a headline banner on the front page.

Sooo....have a drink of your choice, and maybe listening to get to know us would be a good idea.

I know, which is why I'd like to share. Anyone with something in their history can come forth! I'd like to know more people like that. I am really happy to see other rescuers at work, and I am glad that as many JRT have gotten to come to you. You seem like a very knowledgeable person.

I also wonder why you have so many dogs you claim as yours, but then come on here and say Joans is your only pet...

Hmm.. something doesn't add up.
