Is there any side effects that anyone knows of from using this product?

I posted about my dogs strange behaivior in a differnt post and after trying to figure out what is going on, we think that the Advantage could have something to do with ti? It is the only thing that has changed besides moving to my parents house. But she is acting normal again now and is over due for another dose? Do you think she could be reacting to it and that is why she isn't interested in eating and playing like normal?

I've not heard of any problems with Advantage in dogs, however I've heard of some skin irritation occuring in cats after application. If your dog is normal now, and you're not planning another house move, I'd apply it and watch the behaviour afterwards. Would be really interested to hear how it goes.

I would guess it's the moving more than the medication. There's not much in Advantage to do anything like that, I wouldn't think. However from personal experiences, we've seen A LOT of behavior changes with Watson based on things like moving.

well, we gave her a dose last night. We shall see what happens. It said on the package that as with any pesticide treatment there is a small chance of side effects but they are very rare. It didn't state what those side effects could be and I couldn't find anything on my quick scan of the website. I let you know what happens.

Some dogs and cats do have allergic reactions to Advantage and other "spot-on" treatments. It's rare, but not unheard of. Often they can use a different product and be fine. My Rerun reacted to Advantage, but is fine with Frontline.

Talk to your vet, and see what s/he thinks.

But strange behavior? Allergic reactions and the like are not unheard of, but a complete shift in animal behavior??? That doesn't seem like a side effect...

Yes, it can. I stopped using those meds. If you shouldnt get it on your hands then why put it on your dog. I use garlic. I put it in their dog food.
