Ok, my great aunt's sheltie is coming on Friday but I am sort of worried about getting him adjusted to our household. He is very quiet and innactive inside, for the most part, and my girls are really rambunctious and energetic while anywhere. He is not used to children, well toddlers. He seemed ok with my daughter last weekend, he just sniffed and basically left her alone but with them having constant interactions I'm worried maybe he'll freak out. He's been around infants and we are told he's very good with them, he'll sniff them and then go on his way. I don't know how to get him adjusted to our house, and I'm worried that maybe he won't like us or something. Shelby just made herself at home from the second she stepped foot in our car but I know shelties have a different personality then a husky. Does anyone know how we can help him adjust to our home? I have asked her to tell me what he likes and doesn't like and she has gone out and bought him some of his food (Iams, yes I know YUCK) and treats and his heartworm stuff but he doesn't use a bed or toys or anything. I was thinking of asking her to sleep with a towel, or blanket, or toy or something so we could get her scent and he could still have something with her scent...is that a good idea? I don't know I'm just nervous about him getting settled in.
