Do you remember some hot discussion of my Adel, which gave birth to ten puppies in a "disgusting" wood box without any bedding? The puppies grew happy and healthy. They saw a vet only one time and it was for obtaining shipping certificate. I will not breed them for a few next years. This is because of difficulty to find right home for each of them. I would not say there is lack of interest; just very few buyers meeting my criteria of a good home for a hunting dog, such as Saluki. I still have one male and one female available. They are anxious to run free and this is what makes them both happy and healthy. They would like to meet our goats.

The red female, on the left, is our Bibigul. We will keep her mainly because of her peculiar behavior. She is the most affectionate and attentive; she also makes longest investigative dashes in wild places. The male with black muzzle is available. I am taking them in walking trips up to 1/2 miles long in fields and woods. We are in a bear country. Couple of days ago, I invited a group of scent hounds hunters and their strike dog detected a bear. When we turned the hounds loose, they headed towards area, where our house is. Those dogs pursue only bear. I also see other signs, like turned over huge rocks and rotten stumps and bear poop.

Don't come here and get all sarcastic. You should not have bred that dog unless you had plenty of homes lined up.

Yes, may be you are right. I expected only 5-6 puppies in the litter and I had enough interested on my list. Finally, it is not bad. I have only one male and one female left. If I would not sell them, I would keep them here. Seven puppies got in good homes. When buyers are lined up, something is wrong with this. There was time, when many wanted a Dalmatian, or a Shar Pei.... If you believe your breed is good and your dogs are also good, you will find others, who share your taste. I am sure my Salukis are much better, then average.

IMO thats not necessarily true puppydog. as long as he can keep them if he cannot find a home i think that is fine. i would breed without homes lined up if i was in a position to keep most of the puppies if need be. i wouldnt mind.

Don't read my posts if you do not like them

While I agree with the comment on keeping the pups. I have a problem with his sacrasm. I do not agree with how he treats his animals, but that is his choice. What I have a problem with is his attitude to us about how we keep our animals.

He has insinuated numerous times that our pets are not happy because they can't be "natural". So if he comes here with attitude and sacrasm, I will say something. If people like DanL don't like it, they can feel free to skip it. But, I will not give it a rest.

It's kind of hard to skip it when it's a topic of interest to me, I'm reading the replies to the thread, and come across your posts. You are taking what he says too personally. YOU know your dogs are happy so why worry about what someone who has an entirely different perspective on how his dogs should be treated and what his dogs are used for believes?

Great. Isn't it wonderful how people have choices and opinions and the freedom to express them. ;)

Breeding without all puppies spoken for is that big of a deal when he has the finances and space to care for them? Seriously? Who gives a rats ass? It's not like he's saying he is desperate for homes, or dumping them in the shelter. Just saying who is available. I understand you wanting to say something, but can you come up with something better?

Beautiful puppies OP, love the pic with the goats.

My problem with it is that he was trying to peddle them over the internet. That is what got my back up.

Oh, and I found a funny pic that relates to this

I've only seen him simply state who is available and who isn't in this thread.

If another, more respected breeder on this board, were to say one of their puppies were still available I am sure there would be a ton of posters, whether serious or not, posting they would gladly take it home and no one would be up in arms about it that a) they didn't have enough homes when the puppies were ready to go home or b) they were "peddling" them over the internet. Just because someone may or may not contact him in regards to who is still available doesn't mean he will sell them a puppy. He said in the original post of this thread that it wasn't because of lack of interest, but few buyers meeting his criteria. Sounds pretty good to me, and shows that he must do some sort of screening.

I don't agree with everything the OP does or says. But so far in this thread, he hasn't done anything. Sure he's a little sarcastic, and I'm sure it's a defense against what's been said to/about him, just like you got defensive in your post because he called some dogs "foo foo" or whatever.

Right. I guarantee you that if he wanted to just pump those puppies out there, they'd be gone already. Those dogs are cute and purebred, they wouldn't be a hard sell. ;)

Since when was it a requirement to have 11 homes lined up before you breed... uh it wasn't until people started putting out those "IS YOUR BREEDER ***~RESPONSIBLE~***" criteria checklists. I kinda think that is pseudo-"Responsible"... the mentality that you should "Have those homes lined up so you can fire those pups out the door" lol. This approach is more of a "I wanted a new hunting dog out of my bitch... so I'll have some pups available, they should be really nice hunters, if you like, if not, I'll just hunt them myself." Now I know I've got someone's hackles up, so to clarify I'm playing around a bit, I know that not all breeders that have waitlists and whatnot are trying to "get rid" of their pups, but what this guy is doing isn't irresponsible.

He isn't threatening to drown them, he isn't dumping them at a shelter... he's caring for and hunting two of his very healthy happy homebred salukis.

I will say that this isn't really the best site to source hunting homes, but there is Pops, for instance, and maybe someone else, maybe a lurker, who knows. At any rate just because he says there's something available doesn't mean that he'll sell it to you.

And I love the pics :D
