Additional vitamines required?

I got a few recipes from the balanceit website and they recommend either a combination of human vitamins or a balanceit supplement powder. Is this necessary? What if anything do you guys add to your homecooked meals for dogs? Is there a way to provide the necessary nutrients through regular produces rather than vitamin tablets?
