For the past three nights, as soon as we turn off the lights to go to bed..Addie starts barking like crazy. She is 3 yrs old and has never been a barker...not even when someone comes to visit, she just has that husky trait. SUDDENLY...only at night...she goes into a barking spree and is totally acting in a frenzy. I can also hear her panting wildly between the barking. Now, we live in the country so I figured the first time...there was an animal around. (the dogs are out in the pen at night) Now, the very strange part is that Hammie is always just in his house sleeping....and I know for a fact that if an animal or person were around, they'd BOTH be freaking out. I watched Addie last night and I couldn't believe that was my dog. She'd even go to the gate and grab with her mouth rattling it to try and open it. I haven't let her romp in the woods for about a week because she was going to the neighbors house also and I don't want my dogs disrupting anyone. Do you think she may have too much pent up energy?? I walk her in the evening on a leash and then they are in the house for awhile. Addie has always had that need to run....and I mean she runs FAST, also has such the hunting instinct that she digs for things around trees, etc. My neighbor doesn't live close, and I was weary of hiking over to fetch her. Sorry this is so long. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts........my hubby and I aren't exactly sleeping well. I just don't know what else to consider.
