Has anyone ever had it done? My mom had a wreck a a few weeks ago and her doctor suggested it for an injury on her hand. What should she expect?

There isn't a practictioner here, but if there were, that's what I would do - and I'd have Charley in there about that knee.

Think about it this way - how long have the Chinese been practicing acupuncture? And, something you can't say about western medicine - no tragic side effects!

I have had acupuncture done several times. If it is done properly you don't feel anything. It did get rid of the pain.

I have never tried tried it but have had it reccomended to me by doctors. I just have this deadly fear of needles.

A good friend of mine has that "thing" about needles too, Pits. She's now married to a retired medical examiner who now practices alternative medicine and accupuncture - and also teaches it at the University of Michigan's med school ;)

She says it's nothing at all like having a shot and has found that regular treatments do her a world of good, and not just for physical problems.
