Acting unusually tired after vet visit and shot.

I took my 3 year old dog to the vet today to get her ears checked. (She has had ear infections before I adopted her). On the 20 min car ride it was very hot outside, and she threw up in the car twice. I had AC on too, and I mentioned all that to the vet. My wife later told me she had been asleep most of the day and had very little water.

So they did the usual no fun stuff, weighed her, temperature up the butt. They mentioned they gave her a shot to calm her stomach while checking her ears. It's been 6 hours now, and she is acting very unusually tired, doesn't want to eat anything, and has just been trying to sleep the rest of the day/night.

Is there any reason to be concerned?

It's one of those difficult ones - however, if she doesn't normally throw up when taking a car ride then there is an increased likelihood of all not being well. I would give it 24hrs - if she is still lethargic, vomiting occasionaley, or not eating or drinking much then it's probably safer to take her back to your vet.
If she is vomiting persistently/frequently, then take her sooner rather than wait the 24hrs.

If she's still not feeling well, then I'd take her back the vet. What kind of shot did she get?

did they ask you before they gave the shot? That's one thing that REALLY pushes my buttons about some vets!

What did they give her? it could be a side effect of the shot. If she hasn't improved, then I agree with BP, I would bring her back to the vet.

Apparently its a stomach tranquilizer, makes her not hungry for a few days. About 26 hrs later she is still tired and not too active, but its improved since yesterday. Still not eating, but is drinking water.
