It's 5:17am. I've been up for an hour. I'm drinking coffee. What person in their right mind is drinking coffee at this time of day when they have no where to go?

I woke up an hour ago to the smell to poo. Constantine (4 month old Terv). In his crate. Right beside the bed. Yeah.

I let him out, take him outside and put him in the run attached to the house. Come back in, look to the left, and there's Micha (my momma dog) doing the "I HAVE TO POO!" dance. I let out Micha. I head back down the hallway to take care of the crate, full of poo, in our bedroom. I grab the crate and throw it out the back door. It can wait until later. I'm going back to bed. I let Micha back in the house and head back to the bedroom.... but stop, 1/2 way down the hallway. Sigh. There, on the carpet, is a trail of poo-paw prints. VERY BIG SIGH. Okay. Coffee. I put on coffee, grab the carpet cleaner, and off I go to clean up poo-paws. I start in the bedroom. My husband is still sleeping. How? I don't know how, but he's still sleeping. I get the first prints clean, and I hear Micha correct a puppy. Hard. Sigh. So I go check. Cool - Micha has brought her puppies breakfast. My husband forgot to put the pork ribs that were on the counter into the fridge before bed. Micha thought they would be a wonderful breakfast thank you very much. Okay. Micha went back outside. I went back to cleaning poop. Hubby wakes up.

Hubby: "What are you doing???"
Me: "I'm cleaning sh!& off the carpet."
Hubby: "Why?" (remember, it's 4:40am)
Me: "Because there is SH$# on the CARPET!"

Hubby gets the point. Shut up and don't ask me stupid questions at 4:40am. He gets up and heads to the bathroom. A few minutes later I'm halfway down the hallway, still cleaning the carpet. Puppies are fighting over packages of pork ribs.

Me: "Are you almost finished in there?"
Hubby: "Sigh... yes."

He comes out.

Me: "Will you please go cut up those pork ribs and give them back to the puppies before they kill each other?"

Hubby: "Should they be eating pork ribs?"

Me: "At this point I don't care! Just go cut them up. If you don't want to do that, then YOU clean the carpet and I'll go cut up pork!" (I really do care, and know that other people do feed raw pork, and the puppies are old enough to be introduced to more than raw chicken - I wanted lamb to be their next meat, but what the heck.)

Hubby went and cut up the pork ribs. The puppies are having a WONDERFUL breakfast of pork ribs. They are actually quite content now that they each have their own rib in their own corner. Me, I'm drinking coffee.

Hubby: "You know, you really should come back to bed."

Me: "I'm not going to sleep, so what's the point?" (As I drink more coffee.)

Hubby: VERY BIG SIGH. He goes back to bed and shuts the door.

It's 5:21am, and here I sit, drinking coffee. The puppies are happily chewing on pork in the kitchen. Micha's still outside. Maybe I had better go get her, but she sure as heck is NOT getting pork for breakfast!

Now really, the day can only get BETTER, right????

No, hon. It can definitely get worse. I sure hope it gets better. But you have some big hugs from me going your way. What a crappy morning. And here I thought my morning was bad. The mess my three cats made (yes, all three of them contributed this morning *grumble*) doesn't quite add up to poo on the carpet and raw ribs being attacked by puppies.

My suggestion? Give them something to occupy them a bit--sounds like the ribs are doing a good job of it--and have a hot bath or something. Let your hubby do some work. ;)

Sounds about right, Spiritus. Now all you need to do is leave that crate out there till it's about 85 degrees out and then go tackle the steam.:lol-sign:

Oh, I was NEVER upset with the puppies. Their mother? YES! Them? No. Mom brought them food. Nothing wrong with eating what mom brings them. Sigh. LOL.

My day turned out to be pretty good. I didn't get a nap in - almost, but not quite. Just as I was drifting off to sleep, hubby started doing VERY noisey yard work, pretty much right outside our bedroom window. Men! Go figure. LOL.
