I know I haven't been around much at all lately, so I figured I'd drop in and give an update 
For those of you who don't know, we did end up adopting our little foster Ari; my dad finally caved. Now, ironically, he and my dad are really close. For the first month or so we had a problem with him going to the bathroom all over the house, and some minor aggression. For a while we weren't sure if we would be able to handle it. However we waited it out, and he's acting as if he's been here his whole life. Words can't even describe how grateful he is when he looks up at us.
We have no idea about what his background was, except that he was found as a stray. Since we've had him for almost three months now, we've noticed that he's afraid of basements, aggresive/fearful when he has to go down stairs in general, is extremely cautious of men, and he has NEVER wagged his tail. He always looks so sad without his tail wagging! Basically we think that somehow he was abused around or involving stairs, and mainly by men. He also flinches if you raise a hand too fast.
But he's really turning out to be a little mush, even if we do have to teach him how to love (which he's obviously never done). He just goes limp when you cuddle him, because he's really confused at what we're doing.
The old man is doing very well also. He's very short-tempered around Ari, he doesn't have the patience for a 1 and a half year old dog
So thats the not-so-brief update! If I have time I'll take some recent pictures for everyone!
