A rare occasion here

Yep, it's a rare occasion for me today. I actually have a weekend where I'm home both days, and trying to get some stuff done around the place. Even stranger is the fact that Dekka is away today, she went to visit her brother in the city for the day. So...not only am I home alone, but all the dogs are here too.

Did some general cleaning up around my shop (all outside), took a load of scrap metal and got rid of it. (Made a whopping $45....but still beats the heck out of paying to get rid of it at the disposal area.) Also loaded up my used motor oil and filters (about 125 litres of oil, and 20 or so filters) and took them to the 'hazardous waste depot' for proper disposal. Of course I realized when I got home that I'd still missed 2 pails...they can wait for next time.

Now I'm actually sitting out on our porch, watching and listening to the rain come down. 4 legged Dekka is out here with me, but not too cool with it as there's the odd bit of thunder, not one of her favourite things. I don't recall the last opportunity I had to sit out on the porch, guessing at least 2-3 years. Sad part is I was thinking about a solution for me so that I could work on repairs etc while it's still raining...even if it's short term. (Eventually I need a bigger shop for that, but it's not in the budget right now.)

I'll have to think about dinner....maybe I'll dine on the porch too. :):)

Sounds like you are enjoying a down time !!!!
THIS is what it feels like? Dang....I could get used to this. Though the more I think about it, the more the idea of a temporary building for working in seems to make sense. Just the right size won't really affect the use of the driveway, and then I can still get stuff done on the days I can't dig due to rain. (Though even if it were there now, not likely tonight since I'm enjoying it!!

Unfortunately the grill is out in the rain, and no idea if or what there is here to put on it, so I'll skip that idea tonight.

Well...since we're due for a grocery run, selection here was limited. Everything I had interest in for dinner was either in need of being thawed ahead, long time in the oven, or required BBQ'ing out in the rain. So...my avatar and I went and shared a meal of Wendy's. :D:D

My 'other half' isn't so keen on Wendy's, preferring Rotten Ronnie's. Interesting thing though? Snip isn't quick to eat the fries from Ronnie's, but he couldn't get enough of the Wendy's fries. (He even started drooling....ewwww!)

I do think I may have poisoned him though....he eat about a teaspoon of the chocolate frosty....somehow though I doubt there's enough actual chocolate in it that it will do any harm. :)
