A pit bull and a kitten! Pics.

As some of you know... I rescued a kitten about 7 days ago. Reggin was having a hard time adjusting to the new member of the family. Not because of aggression, but because he was absolutely terrified of the tiny kitten. He would start shaking at the sight of the kitten.

I didnt think things would workout. Well, I tried my best to get them used to each other. I would let Reggin bravely come over to me while I was holding Skittles in my lab. He would sneak over, lick skittles butt, and then run off.

After awhile of backing off every time the kitty made a movement, Reggin would try to initiate play by snorting and whacking the kitty with his paw (which I had to protect the kitty from getting a concussion).

I had to teach reggin to be gentle. Reggin would try to bite at him, playfully, after the kitten would sink his teeth into Reggins nose. They are STILL quite weary around each other, but are making good progress.

Reggin pants when he gets nervous.

You know how this is gonna end up . . . . Skittles is going to Rule and Reggin is going to be the Enforcer, lol, kinda like our cat, Gulliver (also a yellow) and Purdue, my GSD.

Gulliver went out the front door every morning to make rounds and Purdue had his morning time in the backyard. Every now and then the paperboy would bring his dogs around with him. He seemed to think it was funny to put them up to chasing cats. They'd chase Gulliver, and he'd have them run right up to the back gate.

Then he'd sit down in front of the gate while Purdue - on the OTHER SIDE of the gate, put The Fear into them.

Gulliver would sit there calmly and wash his butt while Purdue raged behind him and the dogs cowered, considered their options, and then ran off

It was a bad habit of Gulliver's . . .

Haha, yeah. Well, Reggin is used to cats running from him when we would go for walks. They would run off when Reggin came walking down the street. Well, that made Reggie feel all big and bad. So since skittles is just a kitten and wasnt much afraid of Reggin, he would stand his ground, and that REALLY freaked Reggin out. lol.

lol. Reggin will stand there licking the poor kitty, making his head violently flop back and forth and around. Thats when I have to step in and tell him to be EASY!
