I think every time I've made one of these my requirements have been so vague that 20 different people just suggest their breed, lol. But my wants have changed slightly since I've had children, so here we go:
Need:
A dog that is good with kids
Medium-high energy, but needs to be able to settle without me spending a ton of time teaching it how, and should be able to spend a few days getting less exercise without getting stir crazy
Somewhat drivey, but not too intense. I want a dog I can trick train and possibly compete with, but I wouldn't be looking for something like a BC or JRT at this point.
Low grooming requirements. No regular groomers, I can do occasional brushing but I'd kind of prefer a short or wire coat. Don't care about shedding or drool or anything.
Quiet. anything known to be super vocal is out.
Can find in rescue
Want:
Biddable, but I'm ok working with a dog I need to get creative to train
I think I'm leaning towards a small/medium dog (say 20-45 lbs), but Id consider bigger or smaller
A dog that can live with other dogs, but I would rule out potentially DA breeds. I don't mind dealing with reactivity
Minimal health issues
I'm interested in titling in obedience and rally mainly. I'd love to do agility but its kind of on the back burner.
