We got a new dog about 2 months ago.(Darcy) And she and our other dog have been getting along great. Recently though, he'll snap in her face and bark for no reason. She came in from outside and he snaps right at her. Anyone have ideas why he my be doing this? Jealousy maybe? Our old dog used to pick on him.

Probably he is trying to show her he is the alpha dog and not to mess with him.

The older dog is just trying to show Darcy that she/he is the dominant one. As long as they dont get violent, IMO let them work it out. Sometimes it will scare you, but hang in there. :)

It could be a pecking order thing, but IMO, from the way you worded it, it sounds like he's initiating play.

Roxy will bark loudly, and Hades nips right at her face often when they play together.

HOw old are both dogs?

What is his demeanor when this happens? Really active? Stands very still? Tail?
