Yeeeewuuuuu. Yuck. Hot water and napalm down that drain, girl. I once left a can of beer on a table on our patio, went inside and pottered and came out again. Took a hearty slug and then watched in horror as some creepy little legs poked out. Shortly followed by the cockroach they belonged to. BLECHHH.

oh

my

gawd.

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

I probably would have proceeded to scream bloody murder, and attempt to rip out my own esophagus, stomach AND intestines, to ensure I had not swallowed one.

You have officially scarred me for life.

Welllll.... this one wasn't alive, but I avoid drinking out of cans now.

Once I had a sunkist (that's the brand, right?) orange soda... I had a few sips, and then felt something slimy and LEGGY in my mouth.. spat it out on the table immediately, and went to wash my mouth out. When I finally inspected it, I had to wash my mouth out again, b/c is was a slimy, partially decomposed GIGANTIC wasp.. about a inch and a half long.... SO gross. I now never, ever, ever drink orange soda out of the cans, and drink anything else out of the can maybe once every few months...

And GROSS at the spit story. I.. I can't think about it, or else I might throw up my dinner.

Sorry about the ticks, Doberluv.. They make my skin crawl, too. The last one I had on me made me panic (oh, well, they all do) and rip it out.. had to get its head out at the doctors and cleaned up. :(

I will never ever drink straight out of a can EVER EVER again!

And I hate ticks, too. I have never seen so many since we moved here to Kansas City. They are everywhere. Eek!

Doberluv... what interests me... how did the vet visit go? Is he single???? :D

You guys are too funny.

LOL!!! Gosh darn it!!! I forgot, when I made the appointment to specify which of the two vets I wanted to see and I got stuck with the inferrior one. LOL. I saw this guy years ago and he's OK, but seems to be in such a hurry....not very personable with the dog or me. He's polite enough, but just straight to the business and no hanky panky. LOL. He just went right for Lyric's leg with the needle, wasn't interested in him at all, no cookie, no gushing...he just acted like Lyric was on an assembly line. Lyric put up with it but the other vet, the cute and nice one would get down on the floor and love Lyric up, making such a fuss over him, shaking his paw, then calling the gal in to watch him shake hands. It was too cute. He acted like he had never seen a dog shake hands before.."Hey! Jenny....come in here. Watch this." ROFLOL. He acted like we were his only patients, put Lyric totally at ease, gave him cookies, had all kinds of time. And a very good diagnostitian, I thought.

Anyway, We'll get Lyric's results later today and Chuli had a vaccine which should keep the bacteria at bay which cause the peridontal problems that she is prone to. She feels kind of crummy.....tired after that shot, but it was to be expected.

No, I have no clue except he was the kind that gets flushed down the toilet. He never attached himself to me, so I think that should be OK. I hope the one that did attach to Toker didn't have Lymes. This is the first time in 6 years I've seen a tic....thought they just didn't have them here. E-w-w-w-w

Idaho doesn't have ticks? Can I come live with you!?!?

I HATE summers here. *crosses arms and pouts* You go in the woods and you always come abck with ticks, even if you stay on a dirt trail and try not to let things brush up against you.

I took the dogs for a walk to the lake last weekend and spent the rest of the afternoon pulling ticks off myself, must have had half a dozen on me. I even wore tall boots with my jeans tucked in, a hat, and darned near doused myself in Deep Woods Off. I wasn't even in the woods, but they got me anyway. I wish they made Frontline for people.

Doberluv: Ticks can survive a 'sea' voyage down the commode, too. What works really well is to douse the little buggers in liquid soap or even skin creme (use a dollop on tissue so you don't have to touch them). Liquid soap on a cotton ball or a tissue will also make them back out if they're attached. Ticks can breathe through their backs so if you coat 'em, it suffocates 'em and they release their hold. Then you can give them a burial at sea without worrying about them climbing back out.
