Two certain malinois had a very good weekend at the Western Malinois Specialty.

All of my photos/videos are cellphone but they're cute none the less.

Really, he's so stinking cute.

We finally did it, we passed our first leg of our CD! For a hyper aware, cautious, no-touch dog this was an epic accomplishment in a small ring, with a large crowd. I'm so proud of my baby boy. He took second in a class of 4 with a score of 191.5 right behind a female malinois who took 192.

Denis and Sloan showed in Open. She took fifth in a class of 19 dogs with a score of 189. She was a bit out of practice and auto finished her broad jump but otherwise did well!

As a reward we took the pups out to play and waited for the lure coursing.

They managed to run in the top five fastest in a group of 50. It's not our thing but the dogs enjoyed it.

Happy boy in the hotel

He sleeps, really... okay not really but sometimes if you freeze long enough he'll rest his eyes to give you a flash sense of security. (that's his YOU Q'd hoof)

Day two the class was 19 dogs again, they split the ups and downs.

Only 4 of 19 Qd on day 2, it was a hard judge! Denis and Sloan took 3rd with 189.5.

I don't know where my day 2 photo went but we took second again with a 192.

I finally replaced my favorite heeling tug. It's actually a **** good thing I'm completely broke right now because this show had amazing buys. We almost left with a hidden sleeve, several toys, a crate, and so forth. This time we did a tug, a new fursaver, and some treats.

We wandered around Bend, it's gorgeous but SO BUSY.

We found a place to swim for about 5 minutes before the skeeters attacked.

And then... this happened. LOL

 Congratulations!

Dumb question- are you on the AKC Judges Review Obedience & Rally FB group?
I am! And I asked the question about a figure eight post Stewart holding the dumbbell under the arm. Denis and Sloan were first in the ring for open on the last day and it totally threw them having not known it was a possibility and she's a very dumbbell happy dog. They survived the figure eight but her mind must have been off because directly after she stuttered lowering into a down on recall but rose before the elbows hit and returned to down at his feet then finished left when recalled. Unfortunately they didn't pass the third day but that's okay, they'll definitely get it at the next show, we're thinking of trying in August when we're back from Alaska.
