I have 2 5 month old dogs. They are brother and sister. The male is almost fully housebroken, he still pees a little if your not paying attention to him when he lets you know. But the female is still pooping on the carpet. You can take her out and she will stay out for a while and not poop. You bring her inside and she poops. She has 2 spots she likes to poop. I have cleaned the spot numerous times with Resolve carpet cleaner. Nothing. Any tips

If the pup doesn't go when taken outside they go back in their crates. Take the dog out 1/2 hour later. Still no poop (and you know they need too) back in the crate. Reward with food when pooping out side.

Less freedom till its earned. Everytime she poops on the carpet she is being trained to poop on carpet. Dogs make substrate preferences and will continue to go on the same surface.

You either need a crate or a small space to keep the pups in. If you can't watch them, they need to be confined so they can't potty on the floor.

If you can't use a crate, then you'll have to supervise the puppies constantly. When they start to potty in the house, you'll have to run them outside very quickly and let them finish outside, then reward them for finishing outside. It does make it harder to potty train without a crate, because you have to supervise much closer. Like Dekka said, every time they potty in the wrong place they are just being reinforced for doing that.

I agree, if you will not use the crate then you'll have to have the pup on a leash with you so you can be sure no accidents happen. Also make sure whatever cleaner you use contains enzymes (look at ingredients or see if it says it's an enzymatic cleaner), check pet stores and pet isles in grocery stores, I don't think resolve has enzymes.

Use Nature's Miracle (buy at pet store). Spray it on the area and let it dry to remove all odors.

I would highly recommend a crate. Talk to your bf about this..is HE the one cleaning if off the floor? I didnt believe in it either, but it has worked WONDERS on both of my dogs. My dog Lacey LOVES her crate. Alot of times i find her sleeping in there at night when she doesnt even need to be. She thinks of it as her "safe spot" i think
