3. That's how many runaway dogs I caught this weekend. The first was yesterday, a puppy, he was wearing a collar but no tags. He was weaving in and out of traffic, almost asking to be hit. Luckily he was friendly and small, because I didn't have a leash with me. We pulled over and I said hello to him. He wagged his tail. He was some kind of mutt, very very cute dog. We took him to the humane society where they scanned him but couldn't find a microchip or anything. The one guy who worked there thought he looked like a dog they had recently adopted out. They took him in and said if his owners didn't claim him, they would adopt him out.
The other 2 runaways were running around outside our house in the rain just a bit ago. They were together. I think they just lived a few doors down but I had never seen them before. We called the phone number on their tags and their owners walked over and got them. I think their family uses an invisible fence. Since both dogs were out, maybe the invisible fence wasn't working properly.
It's weird, I've never caught a stray before, and now we're inundated with them all in one weekend. lol. Well, if my dogs ever got out, I would want someone to be kind to them.
