Hi everyone im new to this site well this weekend was very very intresting my bitch went in to labour so unexpectedly we took her to the vet about 3-4 weeks ago had her check to see if she was pregnant cuz we werent sure if she was pregnant they said she wasnt cuz they didnt see anything so we said ok came home eveything was fine then on jan 12/07 i come home to 3 puppies completly surprised they were in her bed when i got closer i seen the she had bite one of the skin off one of the puppies leg and ripped the skin of the torso so rushed to emergency they told my to put her down so i did cuz i didnt want her to suffer .Came home but this bitch wouldnt wanna give her pups the nipple she would alwayz curl up instead of opening up to let them suck so we would have to place the bitch on her side and put the pups on her but they both past away on the same nite of saturday 1 hour apart they seemed like they chocked or something can someone tell or send me a link on what i can do properly if this ever happens again cuz we werent prepared for this thanks alot

How old was your bitch when she was bred? If she was very young this may have something to do with why she attacked her puppies. Dogs need time to mature emotionally and physically (just as people do) before they can make good parents.

At any rate, I agree with what everyone else has said. Spay your bitch- I would have great reservations about breeding this girl again.

I agree with everyone else, your bitch needs to be spayed, period.

Did she just attack one of the puppies or all of them? Did they die from starvation, hypothermia or injury?

Did you plan on breeding your dog or was this accidental and how old was she?

There are so many factors that keep a litter alive and healthy. All of the details matter when it comes to saving precious, fragile lives. I hope you do not breed your dog again and I am so sorry for these pups that they did not make it...
