This puppy needs to be seen by a vet ASAP! We can't really diagnose over the internet what is wrong with this puppy. Has the mother pushed this puppy away, does it feel cold? If it's been pushed away you need to bottle feed, or make the mother nurse this puppy. Make sure this puppy nurses without competition, take the other puppies out of the whelping box while this puppy nurses. Also make sure this puppy stays warm. I believe there is something called fading puppy syndrome, or something, where the puppy will begin to feel cold. Don't know exactly because I never bred though.

You should take the pup to the vet NOW! pups are suseptible to so many problems because they have very weak imune systems. He could have an upper respitory infection or something much worse. you may want to bring all the pups and the mom for a check up to make sure they did not catch anything from the pup.

Yeah, fading puppy. Will likely need extra warmth and hand feeding and stimulation to survive. Food is not the only part of it. Read-up on, "fading puppy" and talk to your vet about supplements. It will be difficult to keep this puppy alive. Good luck!

extra warmth on the way to the vet..you need to find out what this is and make sure it doesn't spread to the rest of the litter. Let us know!!!!!!! Poor little baby, babies should be exempt from misery.

I read up on fading puppy, and she hasnt coughed since. But I did buy her some puppy formula and have been hand feeding her and put her on a heating pad. She is doing better, no coughing since. I had only heard the coughing 3 times in one week... so it doesnt sound like fading puppy. Thank you all for your responses!!!!!!

Please bring your pup to a vet. Reading information on the internet is no way to make a proper diagnosis. If your pup has given you any reason to be concerned it is your responisibility to see that it recieves the proper medical care.
