you can easily make covers for those bowls with a pair of small holoe fishnet stockings , some clear nail varnish and an elastic band.

cut the stockings so there larger then the top of the bowl, then paint the edges with clear nail varnish to stop them unraveling and put over the top secure with elastic band.

et is a stunning halfoon. very nice tail!

Congrats on the new fish!

Yeah, I had my betta had a brandy snifter shaped tank with no lid and he never jumped out... but I've heard that they do.

They also breathe air... so if you do decide to put a lid on your bowls... make sure it's mesh or something...

Awww, they're cute! :D

I need to get a beta sometime... I have a tank all ready to be set up for one. My last beta lived to be really old- I bought him in May 2003, and he died in July 2007.

I personally think their care is a LOT easier the larger the tank. When I kept bettas in bowls I had to change the water every couple of days. I have a betta in a 10 gallon, and a betta in a 5 (Filters, with lights and plants, etc). And they are doing amazing. My boy Fusia (In the 5 gallon) is almost 5 years old.

I personally don't like bowls, but as long as their water is changed don't see a problem with them.
