I have a "big" problem. I have a male chihuahua that is neutred and then my boyfriends mother has a male chihuahua that is "not"neutred. And my chihuahua is not even two years old yet. Everytime that the two of them play together, my chihuahua ges on the back of him and tries to hump him. I've yelled at him and told him no but he doesn't listen to me. Now it's like that you have to watch him and the other one everytime that the two of play. I'm at my breaking point him because i don't want to keep the two of them apart so that they can't play with eachother. Can somebody please help out and give me some advice on what to do with my dog. :(

he's just trying to proclaim his dominance. does this result in any kind of fighting or does the other one just sit there and take it? If the other dog doesn't like it he will let him know that he won't tolerate being humped. My dog tries to hump other dogs and sometimes they let him and sometimes they don't. he knows when to knock it off. They are trying to decide the "pecking order"

yeah but the other chihuahua male dog doesn't move away from him. He just stands there. But now my boyfriends dad thinks that he is a gay dog. Does it also have anything to do with the fact that the other male dog is not neutred? I'm not too sure what to do.

Dog's don't hump for sexual satisfaction. I mean if the female isn't in heat then they can't help themselves. My dog humps male dogs all the time and sometimes they just stand there and then the pecking order is decided. For example a friend of ours has two bassett hounds. one male one female both fixed. Teddy tried to hump the female she gave him the business and he left her alone she was the dominant one so she is at the top Teddy then tries to hump cosmo who happily lays down and lets Teddy have his way. So now the pecking order is Abby, Teddy, Cosmo. no problems. They don't hump males because they are gay that is just silly. They aren't people

I have 3 males and 1 female.. My female will hump all 3 males because she is the top in the pecking order. In regards to the 3 males they also have humped each other and the order in my house goes "Cocoa", Houdini, Myles then Chewey Jay... Sometimes there will be a train with Cocoa humping Myles and Chewey humping Cocoa, trust me though.. Cocoa won't take being humped and she's the female.

I think your dog is gay. You should keep him with females from now on ..... so they can go shopping and stuff... :p

Like everybody else said.... they're just establishing the humping order :D

HAHAHA! Too cute xxxpoo,

Anyways, in the wild only the alpha male and female are allowed to breed, thereby passing on the genetics of the strongest, most fit dogs in the pack. You little chi is the dominant one over the other chi because the other chi is willingly submitting to your chi's behavoir. He is just making it clear to the other chi he is the most fit.

There is a female chihuahua in the same room as the males. My chihuahua weighs almost 10lbs, and he is much bigger then the other two chihuahuas. And the other one weighs about 6lbs. I don't understand why they don't bother the female like that. And i was told that when we got "my" dog fixed that he would mature and he wouldn't do that.

Right, think of the humping as like a way to establish the fact that your dog is dominant over the other male. It makes even more sense that he's doing while a female is in the room. He is telling the other guy to not even try to be the dominant one because the female is in the room. But the situation can still happen if she weren't there. In the wild males and females alike hump to establish who is the dominant one. The humper being dominant and the humpee being submissive.
