    Canidae...

I just went out and bought Canidae for my new rescue GP. Darcy seems to really like it and she is a picky eater. Plus I like that it's healthy AND not breaking the bank.

    Wellness CORE

Thanks again for steering me in the right direction. I just found out from Darcy's foster home that she is currently on lamb and rice Exceed which she buys at Sam's Club. What kind of food is this? I pick her up this Wednesday, so I want to be sure I can start her on a good food.

    Need Dog Food 101

Thanks for the info. At least I only bought a 6lbs bag. Darcy is 7 months old. But I was told to keep her on a puppy food until she is at least 10 months. The pet store manager and a vet both told me this. Gosh, I don't know what to believe. :( I didn't like the (high) price of Wellness, but...

TICK Killer and Prevetative -- HELP!

You need GUINEAS! They feast on ticks and many other types of insects. We bought a dozen of them to keep ticks at bay on 22 acres. If you have acreage, I'd say try them. I heard they even help keep snakes away. Downside is they are noisy.

    Great Pyrenees Owners

Hi! I have had a male Great Pyr and just adopted a female. I think they are a wonderful, gorgeous breed. They are protective, loyal and a "guardian" dog. They will definitely let you know if there is ANYTHING going on around you or your home. That being said, they can be barkers. By nature they...

    Brush & Bathe Questions..

I personally prefer bathing/grooming my dog myself. It allows her to remain in a familiar environment, save money, and most importantly, I get a chance to spend more time with her. Of course, if I had absolutely no time and am having guests over, I'll take her to the groomer and fork out the...

    How much do you tip?

Wow, $110 for grooming? I paid only $40 ($5 tip) for my double-coated Great Pyr to be bathed, dried and groomed. It took about 5-6 hours, but I thought that was a heck of a deal!

    What does your username mean?

TexasTulip because Texas is where our family farm sells flower bulbs, and Tulip is the type of bulb people are most familiar with. Viola! ;)

    Wellness CORE

I just got back from doing the very same thing. I got a small 6 lbs bag of Wellness Just for Puppy (for $13) and plan to try it out. The guy in the feed store couldn't say enough about it, but who knows whether he's an expert or not.

    Need Dog Food 101

Well, I ended up getting a very small bag of Wellness Just For Puppy. I will slowly introduce it to her as she is on another brand of food (which, if I'm not mistaken, one of the "bad" foods). It is pretty pricey, so I hope it is a wholesome food for her.

    Need Dog Food 101

I really need help choosing a well-balanced food for my 7-month old Great Pyrenees (about 50 lbs). She is adopted, and had to survive on her own for the first part of her life, so she is still under weight. She's not a good eater - a bit of a picky eater - so I want to feed her something she...

    Howdy from Texas

Hi, I just adopted a 7 month old female Great Pyrenees, and am very excited. I am going to pick her up Monday from her foster care. I recently had to sell my horse due to our move to east Texas, so I am glad to be able to help fill the void with my new canine friend. I'm looking forward to...
