11 month old lab - Morning barking

One of my pups started doing this and eventually we got him the citronella collar which seems to be working. Unfortunately, we have neighbours who are very close by and I can't afford to allow barking for go on for a long time.

    Portuguese Water Dog.

We have a Portie and she is the most loving little girl. When we fist got her, she was six months and it was a little tricky to get her on the lead, but with training she is no problem at. I would recommend a Portie to anyone, they are smart, don't require an excessive amount of exercise and...

Brussels pups like to chew up their piddle pads!

Gotcha. So if they stay in the house, where do you eventually want them to pee? That would probably be the place to encourage them to go now. I know you can get faux grass which dogs can do their business on.

Brussels pups like to chew up their piddle pads!

Our pups used to destroy their pee pads by ripping them up into little pieces. We eventually got rid of them and allowed them to stay outside when we weren't home. When can your start going out?

    Bum rub

Lovely topic, I know!! Sorry... Well, he's due for his C5 shortly so I will raise it with the vet. I usually wipe his bum with tooshie wipes, but don't always so perhaps that's it. I do know he stops after I wipe it!

    Bum rub

I've read that when a dog drags its bum on the ground, it most likely has worms. My 14 week Lagotto does this occasionally and it's usually if he's just done a poo. Today he did it in the kitchen and hadn't done a poo. Could it be something apart from worms? The reason I say apart from worms...

Would boarding be traumatic to new pup?

One option that we have in Australia is through a place that finds you a family who will treat your pup the same way you do and care for it while you're away. It's almost like they 'adopt' it. We're doing that with our little ones when we go away later in the year.

I'm sleeping on the floor tonight

I'm going to be a wet blanket, but plsbe careful about doing that - puppies quickly get used to things and if it's not the way you're going to keep it - I wouldn't do it. Just some friendly advice!

What kind of dog would be good for us?

MM, we found our PWD through a breeder here in Australia. We had to fly her in from QLD - some of the PWD breeders do send theirs overseas, check our dogzonline.com.au

My puppy is BARKING way too much.

There are a few things you can try including leaving her for 5 mins and then greadually increasing the time. If it gets too much, then getting a dog behaviourist in seems to work for many people. I find that if we leave our pups out and are in the house, the sense us and keep barking (rarely...

What kind of dog would be good for us?

Hi MM We have a Portuguese Water Dog (the black and white one) and a Lagotto(Italian water dog) and they are fantastic with kids. The latter requires more exercise so I would say a Portie may be right for you.
