Rescued a Golden Retriever. She looks purebred ( and is the best dog I've owned in many years!), but the roof of her mouth is black a coal! Does this mean she is a mix or are they supposed to have a black roof?

Oh, one more thing (and this may be the best advice you get in you life) DO NOT GET A BLUE HEELER AKA AUSTRAILIAN CATTLE DOG. Not to impune the Austrailan Shepherd, which is a different breed and a darn fine dog. Just my 2 cents, based on personal experience.
