    Poor Poor Pitiful Chloe

What a cute girl! And she looks much happier outside. :D Wish my big doggies liked to go outside in the rain, but they hate getting their little feetsies wet.

Tell us the naughtiest thing your dog has done!

Umi is the Queen of Naughty! She tore up my sister's new foam mattress topper (when it was on the bed and covered up), and has jumped up to the very back of the kitchen counter and eaten 2/3 of a Costco pizza. She was round for days! :yikes: Then there's the sofa throw pillows in the living...

    How big are your dogs?

Ooo, spiffy! :D Would Chance happen to be a dobe? They seem to be very tall dogs! Here's my big baby curled up all small: Next to Umi (for size comparison): http://seraphimgenesis.com/misc/umiflinxcouch.jpg He's not quite two, and we think he's almost done filling out. He's so...

    How big are your dogs?

Umi is 11.5" at the shoulder and weighs in at 29 lbs. She's a little muscle-bound tank, not a bit of excess on her! :yikes: Flinx is 27" at the shoulder and is about 92 lbs, though he's very lean. No idea how tall the new fluff ball is. :p

    Loud Growl While Playing

Our staffie and our big mutt play with each other a lot, and they can both be quite loud! Umi, the staffie, makes these snarling noises that sound like she wants to rip someone's throat out :yikes: but her body language says otherwise (tail wagging, no hackles, etc). Our big mutt is also very...

    New MORKIE Puppy

Congrats on your new puppy! :) Yes, they are a handful when they're little. You'll get used to it after awhile, and before you know it you'll have a dog! As for the pads, I agree that they can be a bit confusing for the puppy. It really depends on your puppy too, IMHO. I am training my puppy...

    Popcorn??

Umi LOVES popcorn -- my dad eats it almost every day and always shares with the doggies. :) Flinx likes it too, though he's funny and has to chew each piece ever so carefully, lol (he's a huge dog!). I wouldn't give it to a tiny dog though, I've heard they could choke on it.

"That stuff is bad for your dog ya know" says the vet

Its so strange that many vets seem to have no training at all about nutrition. Its so important for our pets' health! Its often the same with doctors though, unfortunately. Luckily for me, our vet doesn't try and push Iams or Science Doet on us, even though he sells/endorses them...

    Ethics of breeding certain breeds

I do find it a little strange that some breed standard traits can be health liabilities and just look good. But, having owned a pug (and a poorly bred one at that), I'd have to say the breathing problems of squished nose dogs aren't that bad. Sure, my pug made snuffling noises and didn't like...

    my big dog

I probably wouldn't suggest a staffie or pit bull terrier. Sure, they look tough, but though they are often dog aggressive, in my experience they tend to be very friendly with people, like you observed. Our staffie would raise a ruckus if we had an intruder, but only because she thought they...

People Who Don't Train Their Little Dogs

Well said. And honestly, if a little dog came running at me with my big dog, the little guy would be much better off getting booted aside or scared off by me than "chomped" by my big guy. Its certainly not an ideal situation, but it would be for the best. Not all big dogs are angels that will...

People Who Don't Train Their Little Dogs

Little dogs like that would just terrify me if I saw one loose while walking my big dog. Normally he doesn't pay much attention to other dogs, though he might look their way if they're barking. But he has strong protective instincts, and if he thought the little dog was attacking me (or if it...

A question for pit bull owners

Pit Bulls (generally speaking) do not belong in busy dog parks! :yikes: I own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which is pretty much a small pit bull. Everyone thinks she's a cute little pit bull puppy  but when I tell them she's full grown they're just amazed and often very...

Good food for a small breed puppy?

Thanks, Herschel! :) And that's a good idea adding warm water, for some reason I hadn't even thought of that, lol. Its good to hear that Canidae's kibble size isn't too big -- and hopefully he'll have grown a lot more by the time he's 9-10 weeks!

    Pictures of Ebony's puppies

Good heavens they're CUTE! Lab/Shepherd sounds like a great mix (and cute, did I mention cute?), I bet they'll be wonderful in their new homes. :)
