oh wow. I had no intention of talking down by any means. I was actually complimenting the folks posting. I was agreeing with advice being given and I am only here to help people who might have questions. I apologise if my intentions were interpreted wrong. And as for my website it's actually...
I usually don't suggest off leashing in my classes unless you know your dog is 100% reliable on commands off leash. And it sounds like your pup wouldnt be the problem. I would worry about someone else's dog not being so receptive to the greeting.
IMO I dont think its bad trail etiquette. But...
Do you put chew toys or something to keep her entertained? I agree with putting the pup in an area where you can still come downstairs but not reward the pup with the sight of you. Also when your pup is barking and your downstairs do you talk or try to verbally correct the action? Only reason I...
Play time is a must when you own a dog. Contact with people and other dogs daily doesnt promise a perfect pooch but it sure goes a long way. And I agree with some posts on playing preference. My Shiba will play fetch for about 3 rounds of throwing and running. Then she will just look at me like...

:( poor pup. I know your pain. It breaks my heart everytime my dog yelps. But then again I have a shiba inu and she is sensitive beyond words. :) I hope your pup gets better soon let us all know how the vet visit goes.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I think its ridiculous that they would blame AC. Like they are really suppose to go around to everyones house telling them what their breeds are capable of. It all comes down to respecting dogs for what they are. Dogs. All animals are capable of biting...
Can't say that I am afraid of dogs really. I have had a black and tan coonhound attempt to bite my face off in one of my classes. (very dominant agressive dog) The owner loosened up the leader after I did my begining of class check. So I do now tend to be more cautious but never afraid.
