I have a 2001 Toyota RAV4 L. It's got me hooked on Toyotas. I have the seats folded up all the time because I've always got the dogs back there and have fit 2 people and five dogs in it that way before. When traveling with dogs, I take the seats out and can fit more crap than anyone though possible while still having enough room for three or four big dogs to have their own space. Sawyer likes to curl up in the foot well right behind the driver's seat.
For camping, I can take out both back seats and once we get to where we're going, shove the front seats up as far as they'll go and there is room for two people to fully stretch out in the back...even if one person is almost 6 ft. tall...and still have places to stash gear.
My next vehicle will probably be the Highlander, maybe a 4Runner depending on how long the RAV lasts and how many dogs I have at the time. My mom drives a Corolla currently and it gets wonderful gas mileage...Dad wants to give that back to my brother and buy her a Highlander though. They want to get back into camping with tents and all.
I had a 1994 Saturn SL1 before this and loved it--it was my first car and perfect for the task. Drove the crap out of that car---had 130K exactly when I handed the keys over and had had it for 8 years. But when I went looking for a new car, Saturn just didn't have what I wanted. I didn't like how the VUE handled and the back seats didn't fold flat, so it was useless for crates.
