:D Yay, Roxie! That's so awesome.

Tulip got adopted. I'm so happy for her, I hope she found the right home.
That's really awesome that Tulip has found home. But, at the same time, I'm really sorry that Tulip didn't work out for you.

Tulsa talked and jumped for (almost caught) a disc today!! Eek!
Congrats! It's always awesome to see that for the first time.

Are you planning to do disk with Tulip?

Woohoo! Have been meaning to order some new collars for the dogs and I finally just did. :p And Paris has a new tag coming from Aggie's Anvil. I love knowing that things are coming in the mail!

So it turns out Maisy's recall is a lot better than I thought it was.

She's still leash-only and can't hang out in the backyard freely, so I thought she might enjoy some fresh air while I was gardening in the front yard. I put her on a short tether and she was just lounging around in the sun for awhile. Then she started sniffing around and got tangled up in a Halloween decoration and scared herself, and before I could reach her she had managed to get out of her harness. Once she realized her sweet, sweet freedom she started running down the sidewalk, which... 1. She's not supposed to be running at all right now 2. She was naked 3. Our street is not busy, but a busy cross street is not that far away.

But... she recalled. I don't know how, I don't know why, but I'm not going to turn it down or complain. (Nor am I going to be tethering her in the front yard again any time soon. :p)

Yay Maisy!
Like two or three days after I moved here I was shifting dogs through the door and somehow Skye got out. Into the dark. On many, many acres of open farmland. I'm immediately thinking oh ****, I am NEVER going to get her back.

I took a deep breath, called her calmy but loudly, and she came bounding back and went into the yard. Yay Skye!

I spent the better part of yesterday with some friends and their awesome Shar Pei mutt. Their dog isn't obese, but he's definitely carrying a few extra pounds and isn't terribly active. A few times yesterday they remarked that their dog was "all muscle" and how it was weird to pet a dog that wasn't as muscular as their own. They were talking about Cohen. :)

Aww, Leo played super nicely with a 5 year old girl! Yay positive child interactions!

We were playing Frisbee at the park, and she came over very slowly and respectfully and asked if she could pet and play with Leo. Normally, I would say no, but she immediately came off as very dog savvy, and he seemed comfortable. I established a no-touching, no-running policy (he seemed really comfortable, but just in case), and then let her throw the Frisbee for him. He played super nicely with her, always bringing it back and then dropping it at her feet. They played for a good 10-15 minutes before she lost interest and walked back to the playground.

Yay :D

Lololololololol!

Last night I set up four cavalettis (safety cones and pvc poles) and walked Uly over them a couple of times. Briz hasn't done cavalettis before, but went prancing over them a few times while I was working with Uly on something else. When that failed to get my attention, he tried walking backwards over them. "Look at me! Look at me!"

Thanks! She also doesn't appear to have caused any problems with her little outburst of running, thank goodness. In fact, I think she might have stretched out a few tight spots so maybe there was a silver lining.

These dogs, I tell you. If it's not one thing it's another :p

Eeee.... I might have potential job at Dog Daycare.

This wouldn't only be good career-wise, but (IMO) it's good experience dog-wise.

FINALLY convinced Uly to put his front feet on a step stool. Finally. Seriously, I've been trying all different ways of luring and shaping and there was no ungluing his feet from the floor until I had him popping up to do a nose touch and put the stool in front of him. Total lightbulb moment, "OMG, this is what you wanted?!"

I've also been doing a tiny bit of heeling with him, which he thinks is the Best Thing Ever. Staring at me is his favorite hobby.

I love looking back on my old posts. :rofl1::rofl1::rofl1:

And then I laugh at myself.

Terriers and I don't mix nor do scenthounds and I. And nordic breeds are a definite no go. Mastiffs drool too much and are too big/not a good fit for what I want to do but I do really like some of them.

So... as many of you know, I made a trick video. [Yes, I'm spamming the hell out of many of you -- please forgive me.]

Ahem...

*ducks*

I like to check up on how many times it's been shared and the comments, etc. There are some really kind, awesome things being said and I'm really really pleased. :D

However, this one comment struck me as amusing. Some of the poor grammar can be excused since it was not originally written in English.

"A little against nature .... remember that was not born for this ....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
