I just want to say it's a false dichotomy to say someone is either a happy person or an unhappy person, or that someone either acts happy all the time or acts gloomy all the time. Gotta be careful with that, it's as much of a judgment as "happy people are bimbos."

Just sayin'.
Yeah, yeah :rofl1:

Okay, I am a person who is generally happy. Occasionally I will be sad, indifferent, or whatever else have you, but more than likely you will find me in a positive and happy state of mind.

;)

Same here Jessie. For some reason, I seem to have a very thankful heart and appreciation for the little things. If I start to feel lousy and get down in the dumps, it doesn't last long because I'll kick myself and say, "buck up." It's too easy to dig yourself into a hole.

Regarding the subject of this thread, I don't understand why anyone would care so much? It is something that would only possibly have a fleeting milisecond of acknowledgment in my mind, if even that. It strikes me as odd that this much thought has gone into this topic.

Maybe that's part of why you're not happy Steph....too much thought about something that shouldn't have any bearing or affect on your life. If you fill your mind to the brim with positive, happy and interesting (not this) things, things you are thankful for, you don't have much room left for negative thoughts. Use up your giga bites for happy positive or interesting thoughts. See how that does. ;)

Really you think you have been welcomed warmly?

I think we might have different definitions of that word too

I've kinda read this thread but while we're completely derailing anyway... Why would you purposely try to make someone feel awful? :( there's a great chance the OP has a much healthier self esteem than I do (actually I really hope she does...) but if I'd said I felt welcomed and at home here, and this was your response, I'd probably cry, delete allllll my posts while crying, and never come back :( I realize I'm overly sensitive... but that just seems needlessly mean.

I think you're misreading her intentions with that post. I read that as, wow, we really are in two different worlds as far as understanding social context.

I don't see "ill show you how unwelcome you are".

Generally I am a happy and generally positive person, too, but I am not effusive. So I doubt that most people posting in this thread would, if they saw me on the street or spent time casually with me, describe me as a happy person.

Just a pet peeve of mine that there is a difference between overtly or visibly happy/bubbly behavior and a happy person, and what judgments THAT can lead to. ;)

I'm not on either side. But just my opinion. When your opening post to a thread says:

But there's a big difference between that and being a completely, all out, dumb, air-headed bitch that has no amount of measurable intellect
I think that's kind of a sign people don't need to put kid gloves on to deal with you.
