I am really particular about temperament
and personality and I don't know too many dogs that fit what I like/want in a GSD (I want social but not too friendly and I like aggression that is not overdone - I don't want a constantly suspicious dog, just one that would meet a threat with power if it happened). I like a more serious dog that is also really flashy/sporty. Physically, I like my GSDs to be moderate in size and more square. I like them to
look big (have good bone) but be a decent size (70 lbs-ish is ideal) to be able to do the work (and show the flash I like). I like more square heads without being overdone as well. I also demand that my dogs be jack-of-all-trades.
My pup's sire is one of my favorites to look at - I don't "know" him so I have no idea if his temperament/personality would suit me.
Luckily, Kastle is near to perfect in his personality/temperament (I wish he was a smidge more level-headed and calm sometimes...) and might be perfect when he's older (he's not quite one year yet). Plus, he has the build I love but he's a long coat...which was a huge bummer for me for awhile but I've since gotten over it.
IF I were to ever get a showline dog (highly doubtful), I like my friend Lies' dog, Nikon. I like his personality/temperament towards her and his work a LOT and it would definitely suit me. I wish he were a tad less grumpy and a tad less lazy LOL But, he has some physical limitations that probably add to that. Overall, if he were mine, I would be thrilled, I also love his structure and I generally do not like showline dogs much (they all look alike and are WAY over-sized in my opinioin). He's also very versatile and does a number of sports.
