Those puppies are just way, way too cute! With all the koolies on Chaz it's going to be dangerous to come on here, just a cute overload.

EEP!!!!! TINY baby merle! I want to nom them.

So Linds, since you are getting a merle, that kind of dampens your breeding prospects, doesn't it? Does that mean we will have to wait even longer to get Traveler spawn? Er, PUPS.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! This is so exciting!

I may be completely wrong Hillside, but for some reason I think that breeder's breed Merle to Merle in Koolies. Like for some reason they don't get double merled or sumthin'

Then again I could be completely wrong, so I wouldn't listen to what I just said :p

I thought about bringing in one of the males but I figured Traveler would really just die then :rofl1:

EEEEKKK SQUEEE!!!

I am so excited for you two. They are both stunning and now girls Im sure both your Koolies with be equally awesome.
With mine just a bit more awesome :p

Naw, they have the same chance of being double merle as any other breed. They just have a very very long history of being considered a merle breed and because of that most breeders breed merle to merle with a much smaller incident of the issues typically paired with double merles (deaf/blindess and so on).

As far as breeding goes nothing is concrete and I've got a few years yet to figure out what will happen.

I wish I could have one. I liked your description of them in the Quinn/Poppy thread. I sometimes worry that BCs are going to be too serious for me, as I'm used to a Mia who is a goofball. You and your dogs need to tour around so I can meet some koolies.

That's the issue I have with the BC's I've been around. I love the happy and life is grand attitude they seem to have (I've only had my Traveler but most other Koolie owners I speak to say a lot of the same things). I really really like happy dogs. I love that kind of upbeat, gung-ho way they take life and the confidence they do it with.

I could tell when Traveler was on stock the first time with a BC breeder she was kinda overwhelmed by him though. He wasn't quiet, courteous and was full steam ahead from the start.

They also seem to really turn on at an older age. As puppies they are just enjoying everything. It wasn't till last late summer that Traveler got serious about things.

But I really spend more time laughing with him than anything else. The whole time at agility today he just was doing everything with this giant smile and spring in his step

So when are the girls coming to the U.S.? Will they be here by mid-June when I pass through your area?
YOU'RE GOING TO BE COMING BY HERE!!!!! YAY!!!

And yes! They should get here late May! When are you going to be by? What dogs will you have? And YAY
