What harnesses do you like and what purpose do they serve you and your dog(s)?

I need to look into these then LOL. Quinn is soo awkward to fit - she's long but skinny and narrow. Always needs the length of a large so it's not digging into her behind her elbows, but a large is always sliding around on her. I have a Kong harness like this for her that I would like, if it fit her properly LOL.

Chloe has a puppia harness. I use it when we go places (and used it mulitple times a day before we had a fence, for potty breaks) because I feel like it's safer. She can't break it, or slip out of it like she could a collar. Plus if she were somehow to slip out (I don't see how that could happen) she has her collar and tag with our information. It's really soft and padded so it's comfy. She doesn't have a lot of hair, so anything else, I'd worry about it rubbing her and irritating her.

He wears a premier (it might be the one PWCorgi is talking about) harness for walks or hikes or when he's on his tie out. He has an easy walk harness that is used in situations where he might be reactive and try to eat people so that he can be turned and removed easily, without excessive dragging and continued reaction. We originally used it on walks for pulling but he doesn't need it anymore.

He hates them both for some reason, especially the regular premier one, he limps when I put it on (until we actually leave the house then he's fine for the most part, it'll occasionally appear to bother him on the walk, I can't tell why). The only reason he lets me put it on him is because he knows it means we'll be going on a walk.

I have something like that Puppia that Dixi posted. But it's a different brand. I don't even know what...something I found at a local pet store and way cheaper. I think the one I found for Chuli was only $7.00. But it's just like that Puppia. And I have regular harnesses. Chulia has a really neat little thing I never see that I bought in a vet's office. It's like a double layered shirt with those little holes...kind of netting on the outside for insulation. And it has a velcro strap that goes across the chest and one under the belly. It has a reinforced place for the loop thing on the back that you attach a leash to. It's not really a harness per-say, but it acts like one and like a light weight shirt. I love that. It's easy and quick to put on and it keeps her warm on slightly chilly days...not good for really cold days though. I wish I could find another one like it.

Rumor has a sense-ation harness. I bought it because its a front clip (no pull) harness, and its only has one buckle so its easy on/easy off. She's my reactive girl so I use it when walking somewhere I need the extra control on her.

Zen has an EZYdog harness. I bought this one because its a single buckle. He had a Premier no-pull front clip, which he didn't really need. It was on sale so I bought it and then realized I hated it because it had two clips and I kept putting it on backwards or upside down. Zen wears a harness for agility trials. Easy to clip on and off for runs. Other than that, he rarely wears one.

This. I had three but one went with Ruca to her new home.

I clearly need more because I have two dogs, right? :)

I also have an H style harness that Bailey wears periodically. Tonight I'm going to buy a Kong harness with a handle for Buzz to wear around the house because... it'll make my life easier!

Steve has a Walkeez harness that I absolutely love. He wears it for flyball and he wears it for hiking (for Flexi leash purposes, and also for lifting/lowering purposes when we hike in crazy rock-scrambling places).

I have a Dean and Tyler Works harness, I love it! We use it for training. Safer if I am using a long line to restrain her and I love being able to grab the handle too. I also love the velcro patches you can put on it!

Logan his this as his working harness, and it's really become his everyday-do-everything harness because I love it, he loves it, and it's good for everything.

Gavroche has this as his seatbelt harness, but it's also his everyday-do-everything harness because again, I like it, he likes it, and it works.

I've tried MANY MANY MANY harnesses, and those are the ones I've really like. Here are some more I have used:

Liked this one, and is what prompted me to get Logan a similar style in leather.

I wanted to like this one, and in theory it's pretty cool, but no. It would be good if you have a lot of dogs of slightly different sizes and need to harness them one at a time, and don't want to buy a different harness for each dog. But overall, not a fan.

I like this one, but it was bulkier than I hoped, and on Gavroche it slipped around all the time. For hairier dogs it's great.

I'm thinking about getting one of these for Tango: http://www.ruffwear.com/Web-Master-Harness
I've heard that the multiple places for strap adjustment makes the Web Master ideal for tripawds so if I can find one that fits him (Not sure XXS will) that will be his hiking harness! Izzy has a step in harness from premier but we don't use it terribly often since she's behaving on the lease now.

Same here. Mick's was used after he was diagnosised with laryngreal paralysis for walking (leash clipped to the front ring), and whenhe went out on the over head cable for potty breaks. And, using the seatbelt clip from Premier, I used it in the truck (clipped to the bottom ring).

Caleb's wears his when we go hiking and for nosework.

Enda just outgrew her previous harness, something cheap for $7 at Walmart. I bought it because I needed a usable alternative to her Prong collar for dog events (UKC was the only one who allowed it). After several failed attempts to make my own version of a "No-pull" harness, problem was that she wasn't a puller, she's a "Flight-risk", a hole different topic. Anyway, it finally dawned on me to try instead a front clip harness, but she would just back out of the "original designed" ones with her problem. After a quick Google search I was off to Walmart and this is what I came up what, and wouldn't you know it? IT WORKED!

However, she outgrew it, amazing how much a dog can grow between 1 and 2 years old. So with my recent Birthday money, I bought this today! In red-

No pics on her for right now...the computer just got shifted around the room so I'll have to upload the photo's another time.

Also, a friend of ours at a UKC show gave me instructions to build a DIY dog cart, and showed us photo's of her Beauceron in his harness. There is NO WAY I can afford a custom dog carting harness, especially if it doesn't end up working out. So, I made one myself after looking at millions of photo's online, and watching one really good video of how to use the kind of haness I was designing to sew. Here is the result:

And her in our pipeworks mock-up cart "practicing" (more like, her just posing, for now):

We have a basic H-back for Snipe, a Ruffwear Web Master for hikes (was Z's SAR harness), a couple no pull harnesses, and my favorite, which I need to order more of: The Alpine Outfitters Urban Trail harness for biking/blading/hiking.
