I hope your order arrives soon, I hate the waiting game!

I like oranges, California.
I bought some! I ordered some a few weeks ago for a late Mother's Day/ My birthday present...I got 3 and my mom got 3, but I'm probably going to try them all...

I don't think any are new to you guys, because I read this whole thread before ordering :p
I got Aizen-Myoo, Glasgow, Polynesian Pop, Two Five & Seven, Amsterdam, and White Rabbit and for freebies I got Troll and Wolf's Heart. I smelled them all in the imps and I like them all except White Rabbit. I'm still going to try it out on my skin, but so far it's the only one I really don't like :p

I just put on Two, Five, and Seven and I LOVE it.

Review time! I tried Jack last night and it was nice. Probably not something I'd buy a bottle of, but I LOVE pumpkin bread and that's pretty much what it reminded me of. I can kind of see why some people described it as smelling kind of "Yankee Candle"ish, but it was still pleasant. When I smelled my wrist ~6 hours after I applied it, as I was falling asleep, it was subtle and warm and spicy and LOVELY. If it smelled like that the whole time I'd probably be more inclined toward it. Either way, I'll enjoy the imp.

I tried Hymn to Prosperine today, because it was probably my least favorite as far as in-the-imp smells - it was almost kind of boozey, which I wasn't expecting. On, it was pretty nice. I went to a dog show and checked when I left, about 4 hours after putting it on, and O-M-G - it was heaven! I LOVE how it smells when it dries, love love love. It's on my potential bottle list now.

I just put on Eat Me, so we'll see how it goes :)

Eat Me was kind of disappointing. I mean, it smells nice - it just didn't have that SOMETHING that made me feel like it was "my" scent. Nothing wrong with it, just not right for me. So far this is my least favorite imp, which is sad because I had high hopes for it. :(

Glasgow was another that smelled ok on me wet, but dried to be absolutely lovely. I think I miiiight prefer Hymn to Proserpine over it, just slightly, but it's a good contender. Smells sooooo good!

I have Lyonesse on now and... geez, everything smells just ok on me when it's wet, but dries totally different! I like this one a lot, probably not as much as HtP or Glasgow but it's still very nice. I'm going to try the other two again before totally ruling this one out as bottleworthy.

That means I still have Whoso List to Hunt, Black Opal and O to try. I think I'll give O a shot this evening.

I'm a big fan of Jack and Glasgow as well, for the same reasons as you. I can't see myself bottling Jack, but I've been enjoying the imp. Glasgow is just so straight-up heather on me when dry, I just adore it. It reminds me of my mum.

I wore Hymn to Proserpine again last night and put on Glasgow again today, and I almost think I prefer Glasgow now, but we'll see!

Black Opal was just ok. It smelled too, well, perfume-y for me. I don't know how else to describe it. It's a nice scent, but the other oils are so UNIQUE somehow, and this one just seemed average to me. I might trade it.

O and Whoso List to Hunt were both duds. :( Something about them just did not agree with me. I just tried Whoso List to Hunt and had to wash it off. O was similar, although not quite as bad, which was a bummer because I had such high hopes for it! I think I'm gonna put some nice warm Jack on before bed.

So, proper Allie-style review on Dormouse.

A dizzying eddy of four teas brushed with light herbs and a breath of peony.

In-imp: Almost fruity, citrusy, with tons of tea. Odd, but I like it.

Wet on skin: Tea. Tea tea tea. Some herbs too I'm sure... I can't quite pin the notes. Can not stop snorfling my inner elbow. Send help.

Dry on skin: much of the same as wet, but seemed soapy after awhile. Then I remembered my package came when I got out of the shower and I excitedly applied an oil, when usually I wait a little while for the soapy scent to wear off of me.

I'll be trying this one again. And again. May be a 5ml.

I got Somnus, which is meant to be worn to bed to enhance sleep. Will review that one tomorrow. :)

Well, my order (placed June 2nd) FINALLY arrived today!

Unfortunately, since shortly after my last post in this thread my BPAL box has been utterly lonely. Pregnancy has burdened me with some serious smell aversion and I haven't even been able to open the box, let alone consider wearing any.

I did get some interesting frimps with this order: The Grave Pig, Plunder, Brown Jenkins, Voodoo Lily, Mad Hatter, and #20 Love Oil. (I ordered two bottles and an imp set).

I think I'm giving the first 3 to my co-worker since I think they'll be right up her alley and it'll be some time before I am open to trying new scents let alone adventurous ones. I can't touch Mad Hatter as it has Pennyroyal in it and you're not supposed to use that when pregnant, and #20 Love Oil has been on my "maybe" list so I'll hang on to it, but without an idea what the ingredients are I'll wait to try it after the baby has been born.

I'm currently making a starter pack for my best friend with some imps I know she'll enjoy, I'm hoping to get her as hooked as I am ;)

Wow, I so, so fell behind on my reviews. I can do a Dream Formula V: Somnus review!

Named after the Roman God of Sleep. This blend helps bring on deep, restful, natural sleep.

After reading the mixed reviews on the BPAL forums, I decided to buck up and give this one a try. There was a general agreement that if nothing else, it soothed the senses before sleep, which is nice. I'm always looking for natural ways to improve my sleep quality.

Everyone suggesting placing a few drops on your pillow near where your nose rests, as opposed to putting it on your skin, so I did that.

Imp: It smelled... acidic. Which is an odd descriptor, I know, but. Definitely lots of lavender and jasmine notes underneath it, and some other floral notes I think.

Wet on pillow: It smelled like... fresh cat urine. Uh oh. Was this a good idea? I sat up on my netbook for a bit because the smell was blargh. However...

Dry on pillow: ... it suddenly smelled like I had fresh lavender nearby and a hot soothing mug of chamomile-jasmine tea. Oh sweetness, this is so soothing and restful a-zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

I've almost used up the imp at this point, and this is becoming a high-priority 5ml. I've adapted the application - to apply the oil before going to brush my teeth and wash up, that way it's had time to dry before I lay on the pillow. :p

I do agree with many of the reviews - it doesn't necessarily put you to sleep on its own, but the oil was certainly blended with intent on calming and soothing all the senses before sleep, which for me is a great big giant step into dreamland.

Plunder is a really interesting one, I'm undecided but I think I like it. I'll be testing it on Matt too. (Review to come).

I'm really interested to eventually hear your opinion of Grave-Pig, too. It's one of the oddest scents I've discovered so far, and not necessarily in an unpleasant way.

I'm super late to this but I just read the entire thread. Lol I'm making a list to order some imps soon. So if anyone is still willing to do reviews they are helping me a lot!

Gooooood morning BPAL thread! :)

I'm placing a small order with some of my Christmas money. I've also decided to get one of these:

http://www.etsy.com/shop/birdzNbeez?section_id=5494585

Some oils react badly on my skin, but I adore their scents. I've wanted a scent locket for awhile, and I got a compass one, which is just perfect for me... in the midst of trying to find direction in my life.

What do I buy? AUGH. We're back here again. :D :rofl1:
