So everything except the vanilla disappeared entirely. I know they say that Snake Oil gets better as it ages (in the bottle) so I'm going to put this little imp aside for a few months and see if the spicey-ness decides to stick around a bit longer then. I like vanilla, but I'd rather not smell like pure vanilla. I like the fact that the various notes play together in these oils, and that isn't happening with Snake Oil right now.

In other news, I bought some Imps from users on the forum (bpal.org) and can't WAIT for them to arrive

I'll have another update after this weekend. My sister is bringing her newest BPAL imps and we may be doing some imp trading.

I still haven't gotten mine! I went a little crazy buying things for Violet and I only have about twenty bucks left. (No job). But I'm going to see if my sister will throw in a couple bucks+shipping if I let her pick 2 of the 6 imps, so I can go ahead and order some.

Sweet pea with stargazer lily, calla lily, heliotrope, honeysuckle, white musk and a touch of fresh pear.

In the imp: First thing I smell is the honeysuckle and a bit of sweetness (the pear?). I'm not kicked in the face with lilies, but they're there. I can also pick out the white musk.

Wet on skin: LILIES. Stargazer is the frontrunner. The white musk is hanging out with the lilies, but nothing else is noticeable right now.

Dry on skin: Yup, lilies. Stargazer and Calla both competing for the top spot. However, there is a sweetness hiding underneath them that peeks out. It's not fruity like pear, but maybe that's what it is... My skin so far seems to amp sweetness, so maybe I won't smell like a funeral all day if I'm lucky and it will continue to blend as time goes on.

Any updates from others?

I've had a wicked cold, so while I couldn't resist wearing a few and asking Matt and my co-workers what I smelled like, it wasn't a good time to do accurate reviews. Also, thanks to the sales section on the BPAL forum my little Imp box is getting full, and there are more on the way! Dangerous little addiction!

I made an effort to try them all and none of them really tickled my fancy but all were really great scents!

My sister and I passed around imps this weekend. Neither of us had much of a fancy to one another's imps, but we sold two to our guy friend. I sold Galvanic Goggles (metallic leather on him, a great boyscent) and sis sold him The Black Rider (musky and spicy!). He also tried mixing the two on his skin and it was omg good.

I sort of liked Perversion, one of sis's imps, but not enough to buy it. I'm so close to placing my next order...

The winners out of the batch I had were Persephone, Snake Oil, and Coyote. Although I liked Perversion and Nemesis, they smelled really, really similar and I didn't like them enough to purchase a 5mL version. Black Opal was so weak on my skin it would fade after five minutes. If it had been stronger, I think I would have loved it.

But I definitely need 5mLs of my three picks. I LOVE them and will be sad when my imps are done.

I wore O to bed last night, I love it so much. I don't find it sexy though. More sweet and warm and comforting. I counted and catalogued today and I have 21 imps, with 5 more on the way. We should do Chaz swaps!

I agree with Chaz swaps! I hope to place my next order once I can decide my last two. Right now I have ten imps, and only two I'm keen on holding onto. I'd be happy to swap my White Rabbit imp if someone wants to try it, since I have a bottle now.

I ADORE this one! I smell like yummy Christmas baking. A bit like a Yankee Candle, but I can ignore that and focus on the YUMMY!

Well, I've officially hooked islandcavy onto BPAL. I had a forum order that I picked up at the post office and brought to work, where we started opening things up and smelling.

Jo's stealing my imp of Bordello, she fell in LOVE with it, and it smells incredible on her. On the flip side she has asked me very nicely not to wear Gluttony to work. I LOVE it, but she doesn't like how sweet/foody it smells.

This works well for most of them, but I put a drop at most of Lust on. Usually half a drop. It's so strong on me. Can't imagine putting 4 drops. :yikes:

I use that drop on one wrist, transfer it to my wrists, the crook of my elbows, and a dab behind my neck. If I do a whole drop I dab it on my chest and inner thighs as well. That tiny amount lasts all day. I wear it all the time and my imp is still more than half full.

Allie already answered this, but it definitely does. Lust smells bitter on me sometimes, and very sweet at others.

My little collection has BOOMED. I've done a lot of ordering from bpal forum members, which has been fun and cheaper than directly from the lab. I did do a lab order last week, a rather huge one (islandcavy and I pooled to save on shipping, so really, a HUGE order). I can't wait for it to arrive!

I am super excited because one of my forum orders arrived today and she sent me a frimp of Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (as well as a few other things) and OMG is it delightful. I hope it smells half as good on my skin as it does in the imp, because I might have just found a new favourite. I have a feeling I'll be ordering a bottle.

A colorless woman bursts from an elaborate gold and ruby tent and faints dead at your feet. Okay, so I'm still obsessed with Mme. Moriarty. I've had to force myself to stop wearing it so my other imps don't feel neglected.

I've now got two official pending orders (the big order I placed on Feb 28th, a forum order I finalized tonight) and I've been discussing a bottle of Mme. Moriarty on the BPAL forum that should be finalized early this week.

Ok, I want to place an order and I am so torn! I know I want O for sure...and it's a complete toss up from there.

What kind of scents are you usually into?

Dark and sultry.. (musk, deep vanilla, etc..)
Light and springy (crisp smells like flowing water and I believe there is a fizzy pop one)
Florals (two five & 7 really is all roses)

I would suggest O, Snake oil (which is the most popular scent, its like..musky and very dark vanilla. I dunno, its good but a bit too adult for me personally)

Spring happy Florals I suggest 2,5 & 7 (all roses) and amsterdam (which is peony, running water, grass)

The unicorn is a really light scent, linen and cotten and light white flowers. Think dandelions lol

As for where to start.. I like the location ones to start (they are simple lol) and I also really like the alicenwonderland collection

I would start by writing down your choices (and what each choice contains) and then go from there and try to narrow it down to the same packs!

I tend to like vanilla and amber scents (the Pure Instinct I wear comes out as a musky vanilla on me and I adore it) yet also very crisp scents. My favorite two scents from B&BW are cucumber melon and the citrus and basil.
