Ok this might be a weird question, but me and my friends always talk about it and ask each other this quesion.

Ok here it is:

Would you rather a larger crazy Enagement ring and a smaller honey moon
OR
Would you rather a smaller Enagement ring and a longer more extravagent honeymoon??

I picked Smaller ring and a bigger longer Extravageny Honeymoon. I really dont want to carry a big huge honking ring on my finger that will get in the way. lol. Plus I would always be worried of loosing it. And you can buy beautiful rings that wont cost you an arm and a leg. I would want that money invested into something else. like a nicer Honeymoon.. say a trip around Europe. lol

Many of us got the ring before there was talk of a honeymoon, LOL........they had to be sure we'd say YES before they could plan a honeymoon, hahahaha

But if I had gotten the choice, I'd much rather have the ring........trips can be saved up for and taken later, your engagement ring (for most) is THE ring you will always have :)
I'm a jewelry lover though, so I might end up in the minority here :D

Trip. I hate jewelery I dont have a engagement ring and told him not to buy me one to save the money for us to move in together.

A trip will bring memories you will cherish, a ring wont

Haha I understand that you get the ring first, but alot of couples talk about saying the "YES" before it even happens. I know when me and Tyler get engaged we will talk about it first and set up a price plan ect. lol

I love jewlery, but I still would rather have a smaller petite ring rather than a big huge thing that screams "LOOK AT ME" lol. I dunno I jsut really rather have a Honeymoon that holds lots of memories and adventures.

Uhhh... neither? I have a small ring, made from my mom's wedding set (I designed it, but had no say over the size of the diamond, obviously). And I would rather put a down payment on a house than go on some extravagent honeymoon ;)

I had a small ring and a nice honeymoon. Went to Sydney Australia for the honeymoon. It was perfect because Sydney is a place where I have always wanted to go and the beach was AMAZING. Did some snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef and ventured up to Ayers rock (the big red famous rock in the middle of nowhere).

So I would say small ring and a AWESOME honeymoon.

And then I lost my engagement/wedding ring set so whatever LOL. I got a new one though.

Small ring. I dont ever want a large ring as it is. Im not a flashy person. I dont wear a single ring as it is, so it would stand out to much lol.

Again the honeymoon I could carless about. Trips are nice and fun, Ryan and I have done traveling together to the major honey moon stops (mexico and cuba). And have traveled other places (will be doing a 2 week road trip across canada SOON cant wait lol), so again its not a big deal to me.

I'd think the memories gained from a kick ass honeymoon would be much more memorable in the long run than a lump of orderly carbon atoms.

Personally, I think honeymoons are built up to be more than they are, especially with people living together before marriage now. It's just a vacation, really.

I'd rather have the ring, which is weird for me to say. I'm not at all materialistic, but you only ever get one engagement ring, and you have a whole marriage worth of trips to take. Since we got married, we've gone on a half dozen neat vacations together, but there will never be another pretty sparkly on my finger.

I'm with vanillasugar.

Neither. I don't even wear my wedding ring anymore since I lost it twice (temporarily). It would just be such a waste to have an engagement ring that is just sitting around collecting dust.

We didn't do the honey moon either lol. We got married, went to a diner for lunch and then to a hockey game that night :) Plus I don't fly well so anywhere we would have to fly to would just result in too much anxiety for me to be worth it really.

But if I HAD to choose one I guess I would go with the honey moon.

I think jewelry is the biggest waste of money ever, so I'd have to say honeymoon, although if you have other priorities I'd do neither.

I would rather have a honeymoon (vacation) over fancy jewelry any day.

Our money however was spent on buying a house. I got a small ring and NO honeymoon.

I would take the big honeymoon! I got a small modest engagement ring and wedding ring, and I'm happy with that because I'm always breaking and losing things  and I would feel REALLY bad if I broke/lost a really extravagant ring.

I'm about the jewelry, but nothing big and gaudy.

We aren't doing a honeymoon, might entail going to the casino or getting wasted, that's about it, just don't have the time or money to do a big t rip.

Depends on what you consider extravagant for a ring. I don't believe in "upgrading" rings for anniversaries, so the engagement/wedding ring set I have is the one I'll always have so we made sure it was something I'd be happy with for the long term.

For our honeymoon we had planned on going on a group camping trip (after our vegas chapel wedding), but ended up spending the week at home instead because I was sick.

I don't believe in over spending on either . It's the commitment that counts . Through 50 years my original rings change 3 times . My original wedding ring had to be cut off due to a broken finger ..... I now have a gold band with the original diamond set in . My daughters have the leftover diamonds .
