Yeah... I don't think the dark ones are brindle at all, they probably aren't pure boxers either, oh well, congrats once again anyway.

It is concerning to me that the breeder advised your family to take him home so early, but I know it's not your fault. He's very cute, and I wish you the best of luck with him! :)

I do not see any brindle pattern in the dam or any of those dark puppies. They do look black to me, but my eyes arent the greatest.
It can be very hard to see any brindling on a reverse brindle Boxer. There was one at the dog park last week who, if I didn't know better, looked completely black with a weak brown hue if the sun hit him just right.

I'd really like to see more pics where you can see the brindle (I assume it's hard to catch on camera if it's so subtle). So take lots more pictures! :D

I did not know that. I do see some faint brown undertones in some pics, but not a brindle pattern. The color is quite striking I will admit!!

A dead horse has never stopped a good witch hunt before, though. :)

Cute puppy! Good luck with her!

actually i was going to followe up my advice with a "please call the AC of the area in which the breeder is and let them know the breeder is selling 5 week old puppies."

while bre had no say, if she can put in a concerned call...it may be one less ignorant breeder...

The brindling is very subtle and may be hard for some to see, depending upon their computer monitors too. You can see some color evidence in this shot in the shoulder and flank areas ...

Thanks everyone for the comments on hoiw cute he is.
Thank you Jessica and CharlieDog and a few others. :)

Yes, I did inform my mom about his age, as well as his color. If you've read anything I've written about my mother, I think you'd understand, but I don't even want to talk about her, because it makes me grid my teeth and it only makes me even more angry, which I honestly have no interest in being right now.

Regarding what some said about him not being a purebred; I don't doubt that. He is HUGE for a puppy of his age, and the father was not on site. My guess is he probably has some pit bull or Mastiff mixed in.

As far as the breeder insisting he goes this early, I don't know. She said he was at a good weight, was very independent, twice the size of the other puppies, already had teeth and couldn't nurse any longer, and rarely even nursed at all except for when she showed us the mom out in the yard with the puppies.

Kenai is doing well, staying healthy, eating well, and is very playful.

Interesting that Juno's been mentioned in this thread... quite honestly I was surprised that I didn't get any flack for her being an "unacceptable" color. IMO if the color is genetically possible, then it shouldn't make them any less "boxer" than a fawn... I don't really care what the show ring thinks of it. :dunno:

Anyway, again, he's a cutie... good luck with him haha. :)

AKC, IMO, is racist. They requested that all puppies with more than 1/3 white be euthanized not too long ago. It's freaking dumb. I couldn't give less of a f*ck what AKC thinks of black Boxers any more than I could give a f*ck about what they think about white Boxers.

I wasn't sure what "unacceptable color" meant when someone mentioned it earlier. Is that all it means, not accepted by AKC? I thought maybe it meant it was linked to a healthy issue or something. If it's just not accepted by AKC then I agree, who the f*ck cares.

I think black is unacceptable because it would mean that the boxer is not pure bred as the color does NOT occur in the breed, which would mean that it must be mixed.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I dont know a whole lot about the breed, but thats what I have heard and read.

Not very many moms take advice from their teen children . They do what they please. lol.

Whatever he is, he is gorgeous. Cant wait to see what he develops into.
