true ENGLISH staffy bulls are DIFFERENT from the american staffordshire bull terrier!
the staffordshire bull terriers bred in america that a few people keep saying are "a dime a dozen" and "realy common" are not the same as a well bred true ENGLISH staffy bull.
thats why they have different names
the english staffordshire bull terriers are fondly named "Staffy Bulls"
the american staffordshire bull terriers are refered to as "Am-Staffs"
while RELATED these 2 dogs are different and i wanted to make that very clear.
there are VERY few Good TRUE staffy bull breeders here in the US...infact there are even very few GOOD amstaff breeders, but staffy bulls in the english style are darn neer impossible to find here in the us.
everyones covered most stuff....
clownish, fun loving, loyal can be dog agressive and stubborn...
but the staffy bull was originally termend THE NANNY DOG, this breed, when properly bred and correctly socilized/rasied ADORE children and are one of the best family dogs in the right hands, the staffies i grew up with would rather be with their kids though.
my aunt had one who would follow her son to school EVERY MORNING the dog woudl sit outside the school gates most of the day, he would leave at lunch time to head to the butcher round the corner from the school where hed get a knuckle bone which hed take back to the school gates and eat/wait there till he came out of school...this is NOT an unusual situation for this breed.
this is one of my favorite family breeds for the right family! i love these short stocky rolypoly tanks.
i used to have a link to an excelent site that compared the staffy, the amstaff and the apbt.
but because i dont have that...
the following images are of dos form the show ring, they do not belong to me, dogs from working lines may differ, but similarities remain.
the staffy bull UK
NEVER CROPPED!!!
http://www.eastangliansbtclub.co.uk/
these are solidily built short stocky tank like dogs they have a rounder feel to me in terms of face and body.
Amstaff:
often cropped
in terms of looks tend to be taller and generally over all Bigger (though often dont look as stocky as uk staffies) and have a longer face/muzzle)
