haven't read the entire thread, but...
I don't blame anyone for thinking you are a puppy mill. The fact that you gave the pups a designer breed name makes me kinda sick to tell you the truth. You should have called them mixes. No such thing as a shih poo anyway, lol.
I also think Ooops litters dont happen if the owners are REALLY responsible, but thats just me.
Not trying to be mean. Its just how I personally feel.
Its ok
. I never said I wasn't to blame. I am responsible for what happened, they shouldn't of been supervised. But saying I'm a puppymill? Its not like I intentionally bred the dogs. I could although see someone say byb. Neither is good, but puppymill is extreme for someone who has puppies up on a youtube video.
The whole name calling thing? I don't see much wrong with it? Some people say its ''supporting'' them, by just calling them that. But I don't know in this day and time, around here anyways most people refer to them as uggles, poos, doodles, ect. Even if they weren't bred to be one, it could of just been a mix from a shelter. Which sometime it works out for the benefit of shetler dogs, instead of calling them mixes.
I've always called Princess ''shih poo''...usually with '''...sometimes not. Depends on the people I'm talking to. Some people accept the names, some don't. But I try to refrain using it in places where its not too much accepted in. You see now I say shih tzu mix in my posts for Princess.
I just don't see the harm in saying ''I own a cockapoo'' or '''puggle''.....its not like if saying I breed them/support the breeding.
I see it the way people shorten purebreeds like gsd, doxie, ect why not mixes?....but thats just imo. People know what you're talking about. If I see someone post pic of their puggle x beagle mix....I'll say what a cute puggle. I see it sometime when people ask to id their dogs, some people will say that it looks like a schnoodle , or whatever. Even though they aren't breeds, you can tell what they are. I'm usually the minority on this subject about calling them those names on most dog forums, so I don't use them much. But on youtube, as for tags, ect I just put 'shih poo'.
On one forum I put my ''shih tzu x poodle'' and got a response saying ''hey I own a shihpoo too.'' So whether you use it or don't, people are going to call them what they want.
I say what's in a name
? Even if you search them on dogbreedinfo.com, they have them listed, but they tell you they're mixes, not purebreeds.
