Juno's been nauseous since I got home from work and went outside to vomit multiple times in a short amount of time. That's weird, I'll just monitor, whatever. Then I go to feed my cat and realize... where's the bag of cat food. Oh look, there it is, across the room ripped open and not a single crumb left. I can't be certain but the evidence seems convincing, Juno went and got herself sick on probably a good pound of Orijen cat food.

I had to run out quick and buy more food before the stores closed, and now I'll be cleaning up vomit all night. :) Juno, I take away all the praise I gave you yesterday.

You jinxed her!

We have a rule at work, you do not under any circumstances say "so and so hasn't been here in a while" unless you want them to show up and you don't say "so and so is being good" unless you want them to revert back to their awful personalities. You can think it, just please don't say it out loud.

It's just the way the world works! Lol

I should know better. :p

She's feeling like crap today for it. Didn't want breakfast, worst gas in the world, went for a walk this morning but pretty mopey most of the day. Guess I'll see how tonight goes and bring her to work with me tomorrow if needed.

I have family visiting with their two little dogs (Gracie and cooper!), so Abrams is boarding at work right now. (Two little dogs plus my eldery Grandmother do not good Chessie roommates make.) I don't know what to do with myself without him here. It feels so wrong. My coworkers say he's doing great at the kennel, but I miss him.

Poor Histamine doesn't know what to do with herself either. We have discovered she is not a fan of little dogs. She warmed up to my family members after a few hours, but the dogs? Nope. They still deserve hissing and hiding.

We have had Roxie for 5 years now.

During all that time, you would think, after multiple episodes of puking, people would have learned by now that Roxie is NOT corn tolerant. She will gobble it up, and then evacuate it immediately.

Somehow, nobody but me can seem to remember. And unfortunately, I am not home at all times to stop people from giving her corn. But jeez, come on. After five years of this, one would think that people would avoid giving Roxie corn like the plague. Luckily it only happens rarely, but I'd rather it not happen at all. Especially since our house has white carpeting.

*by people, I mean my family, lol.

Picked up a couple of free wooden crates this morning. They're the nice pretty furniture ones, and apparently the previous owner was either insane or just...stupid.

It's obvious that a dog chewed its way out through the decorative dowel sections of each crate, so apparently the solution was to screw plexiglass over these sections. This effectively eliminated all points of weakness...and also ventilation. Just leaning inside one to unbolt the plastic felt stifling.

I don't even....seriously, wtf?

O m g. I am so happy! After I had already paid the big box store, like two days later I get an email from the original (original) trainer I wanted to go with. The one that trials in agility, obedience, and I think lure coursing, does the star puppy classes etc. Told me she has an opening in the puppy class. Got my money back from the store and saved myself money! I am so, so, so happy. Hopefully this works out and this will be the group we do agility with. It would be so much fun!

Oh, and somehow Addie has learned hi-five and to retrieve? Not quite sure how that happened :lol-sign:

Bought a flirt pole...best ten dollars ever spent. Wilson is so so tired now and Sam played with it too. Hopefully this'll help build their tug drive. Wilson isn't all that food motivated but is very toy motivated, so if I could get him tugging in public with me I think it would help his anxiety a lot (we can play fetch and it's like all his worries disappear but...can't exactly play fetch inside of stores or in the middle of the street)

Off in about 20 minutes to get cardiac exams done on both boys. This will be for Payton's CHIC number if it comes back satisfactory. Auggie I really just want the opportunity for a specialist to tell me about his heart murmur. Old man dog... =<

Grade 6.
Grade 6.

I realize this is only the loudness. Not necessarily a measure of severity.

But grade 6.

On the upside Payton's heart is wonderfully healthy and strong. Because he's a stupid young healthy and strong dog.

Does anyone know where to get a slanted dog crate for hatchbacks in the US? All I'm finding is either the variocage which I don't have money for, or ones all the way in Europe :/

Having Gracie and Cooper here for a few days made me realize that Abrams isn't a bad dog, he's just much (much) bigger. When he misbehaves it seems more drastic, but in the end, he's just a dog. I feel like I judge him unfairly or too harshly because I'm comparing him to Cynder, who is the dog that does no wrong, when in the end...he's just a dog, and one that does his best to do the right thing.

I have a better appreciation for him now, I think. I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that he isn't my perfect dog in some ways (he's never going to be an easy, take everywhere, do everything dog), but in the ways I really need him to be, he is wonderful. And that I can have an awesome dog that means the world to me, even if that dog isn't "perfect".

I love my boy. <3
