I just got a Zune today and I'm wondering where and how to load actual movies on it. I already have a ton of songs, but I'm not sure where I can find movies that I can download to it. Can I use the dvds I have at home and load those movies on it?

Any help would be great, thanks in advance :)

Sorry about taking so long to post this. lol I had to find the download link again.

This is the program that I use to get DVD's on my Zune. It converts the DVD into standard WMV format. A standard DVD normally take about 1 GB of space.

ImTOO DVD to WMV Converter 4

I have tried other programs, but so far this is the only one I have found the works, Converts to WMV, the right size for the zune(320X240), lets you preview the video before ripping it (No sound), and does not take over your computer while converting a DVD.
There is only one problem that it has, it is slow. I just leave my computer on overnight while ripping a DVD and by the morning it is done. Also you may have noticed that the Zune software is just a bit slow at putting videos on the Zune, With the WMV format it takes about 30 seconds-2 minutes to put a full DVD on my Zune after it has been ripped off the DVD.

To use the program you just load the DVD into a DVD drive on your computer, open the program, Click the DVD button, Browse to find the DVD, Select the drive it is in, then you have to wait a bit while it inports the Video clips, Normally the longest one will be the movie, Then you uncheck everything but the movie, Hit the record button, Go to bed for the night, Wake up in the morning, It should be done, The video should be in the My Videos folder by default check before ripping the DVD, You always have to rename the Video files after it has been ripped, Copy to the Zune and enjoy.

The download includes the serial number hack so you can convert and entire DVD at once.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me anytime.

Which Zune did you get?

I can download videos off of YouTube and put them on my Zune. I have to see if I can find any place online that you can download the program from. I got my copy of the program from a membership website. Does yours have a warranty? You can get a battery for an Ipod video and put it in the zune for more playtime.

The perfect format for the Zune is WMV 320X240. The software will put MP4 files on the Zune, but it takes forever to put them on it.

Here's something that one of my online friends did to his Black 30GB Zune.

Put a nice big 80GB HDD in it.

Also I thought I should add this. If you are hink about getting a second USB cable then do not get one of those cheap kockoffs on ebay, I almost destroyed my Zune when the cable got stuck in there and would not come back out. The OEM cables are alot but worth it.

No warranty. I was going to find some one mod it and figured it would void the warranty, didn't want to waiste the money on that.
80gig would be nice...hehe

How much more battery life do I get out of the iPod batter?

You won't get much more playtime out of the Ipod battery, The one that comes in the Zune is 800Mah and the one in the Ipod is 850Mah. It is about 1 more hour of music playback and about 15 minutes of video. The warranty came free with mine, but was Voided one week after I got the Zune. The first Gen Zunes are easy to mod, you could easily do it your self if you got the parts. I'm thinking about getting the 100GB HDD off ebay sometime. That or a 40GB.
