Prior to living here (this was once just our little summer cottage) we lived in the suburbs. Every year we would gather all the kids and go out carolling (sp?) It was so much fun, and ended with a party at someone's house. (we took turns) We'd have Santa come and hand out presents. Now, I like to bundle up and take a long walk in the snow. The silence is amazing. Sledding on Christmas eve is the best, too.......complete with hot chocolate by the fire after. :) Course, it's been a strange December this year with rain everyday (Renee, we also had a thunderstorm the other day!!!) Let's HOPE we have some snow! So..what does your family always do? I LOVE hearing about different traditions and customs.

Think Hammie and Addie would like to be hitched to a sled?? LOL That energy could be good......or VERY bad!

when i was a kid, my favorite Christmas tradion was the opening of one small present on Christmas Eve. i don't know what made it so good, but it was. we'd open them a little while before we went to bed.

i dont understand these kids today. i'm only 24, but when i was growing up, we gave my parents a list of things we really wanted. there were at least three things on everybody list, but no more than five. (my brother and two sisters, so four kids) we always got one thing from our list, and it usually wasn't the most expensive thing. usually it was the lowest priced item that we got. maybe thats why now when somebody asks me what i want for Christmas, i usually say nothing or name a few small inexpensive things. i fell bad when i start to ask for more things. it makes me fell selfish. i hate that. i dont want to be selfish, but i think its human nature and we just have to learn to control it. i'd rather give and see the look on everybody faces as they open the gifts. my wife hates shopping for me i'm sure cause i never tell her what i want her to get me. maybe its pride, i don't know.

Eating is my favorite holiday tradition....LOL!

We always go to my grandparents on Christmas Eve and then to my parents on Christmas day. The formal dinner is at my grandparent's house, and my parents always have really great snacking foods like dip and sausage balls, etc.

I just like seeing the family all together.

When I was a kid, Mom would get us something like a pair of pajamas, or a gown or robe that we'd open on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve is my favorite time, but I'm always torn; do I want to stay up and see if the animals really speak, or is it better to go to sleep and just KNOW they do. So far I go to sleep. ;)

Debi ~ you'll get a kick out of this; we're seriously considering getting a harness made for Shiva and training her for sled and weight pulling competitions. What a funny looking reindeer she'd make!

Ho Ho Ho to see Shiva pulling a sled. Max would love to see her be Rudolph one year!

I still wonder if I really heard the bells on Santas sleigh at night before I went to sleep! Oh, to be a child again! Happy holidays to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
