Sorry for all the threads, but I love learning more about the dogs and people of Chaz :p

Do you know any of your dog's relatives? Do you ever see them? What are they like?

Feel free to share pictures!

I adopted Maggie from the shelter, where she was found as a stray, so unfortunately, I don't know any of her relatives. She looked like she recently had had puppies too. I REALLY wish I could have seen them, or knew where they were :(

We got Reecie from a BYB out of the paper, and we never kept in touch with them. I met her parents (Elvis and Priscilla) and we used to have her sister, Coco.

Coco was bigger than Reecie, didn't have the white spot on her chest, and had a MASSIVE head. Other than that, they looked almost exactly alike. She was a lot more playful, unlike Reecie, who is goofy, but doesn't really care about anything.

Sadly, Coco disappeared when she was about 5. I don't remember her much, but I really hope nothing bad happened to her.

I really wish I could have had contact with the owners of Reecie's siblings. I'd love to know if they're still alive (Reecie's almost 13) and if they were as "off" as Reecie is.

So, what about your dogs?

But I won't torture you. lol.

His brother looks a ton like him:

1/2 Brother who I've met:

One of his 1/2 brothers is actually on my chi forum and well, and they seem to have similar personalities. One of his littermates is in a show home. The one who looks like Tucker is on Ian's FB. And I don't have contact with his short coated sister's owner, but I wish I did.

This thread just inspired me to email the owner of one of Mu's litter mates. I've been intensely curious as to how the rest of her litter turned out. I have no idea about Murphy or Tipper's relatives though. :(

I live with and take care of many of my dogs' relatives. They range from awesome to a pain in the ass, to awesome-with-a-shot-of-PITA. LOL!

This is Trinity. She's 12 now and sleeps a lot, but she's still got the bulldog in her. Both of my dogs are from her. Loki's grandma and Terra's mom. They call her the foundation for the kennel.

This is Buddha. Nobody told him he's 10. He's a rough bouncing bullhead and a big goober. Strong on drive, short on brakes. Working him is always an event that gets the blood pressure up. LOL! He was Priest's dad.

This is Monk. He's Buddha's son. Same drive, and a lot more serious. Lotta lotta lotta dog. But he's physically stunning. Priest (my old dog) was a full brother to this one, and he also had that intensity that kept you on your toes. (If you're paying attention, that makes Buddha sire to Monk and Priest.

Kiddo, Ani, Phoenix and Osiris. All 3 are Terra's full sibs.

Solo and Superman. Down from Osiris, Terra's brother. So that would make them Terra's nephews.

Christian, Loki's nephew. He's goofy as hell, but he can work!

This is a cool picture. Loki, her full brother Blue, and her neice Angel. They all mostly ended up with a very mellow temperament. Loki gets keyed up over some things, but overall she's very easy to live with.

No pictures, but I have an old friend whom had Stryder's aunt/half aunt (not sure). Teeny and petite compared to Stryder, but they looked very similar and shared some mannerisms.

I have randomly met people with dogs from the same "breeder" over the years, but not in depth to compare dogs.

Rose was a pup out of Blackie and Brownie. (For the record, although we owned Blackie, Brownie was dumped in our yard. Before my parents realized she was in heat, she and Blackie had already been together and, well, puppies happened.)

Rose now at 13 years:

Blackie in his prime:

Brownie:

About half of the pups went to people we knew, so we've been able to keep up on them. Brindle, the only other brindle female in the litter besides Rose, went blind and deaf a year or so ago. Barry, last I heard, seemed to be in good health other than going blind. Jewels passed away from cancer a few years back (which is what Blackie passed from at 14 years of age). So far Rose seems to be the healthiest pup of the bunch, with little to no problems. Her hearing isn't what it was and neither is her sight, but I wouldn't call her deaf or blind. And her joints are amazing for a 13 year old dog.

Rose has a very stable temperament like Blackie did (no aggression problems at all, and she's not nervy, either), but other than that they were in no way alike. Rose is much more timid, shy, and watchful. She is very sound sensitive, too, and had a much higher prey drive than Blackie did. She also dislikes water and isn't the smartest dog to ever walk the face of the earth. lol

I met Chloe's dad, but don't have any pictures of him. He was a typical farm Collie. Mom was a blue merle Aussie that passed when the pups were about 4 weeks.
Two of her siblings ended up being rehomed on craigslist two years back. My mom's friend has one of them now. She and Chloe look SO much alike and apparently act a lot alike, too. Both have anxiety issues, although whereas Chloe is a dominant bitchy brat, Lacey is more submissive/mellow. Basically, what Chloe would be like without the attitude problem. LOL

And all of our outdoor cats are related. Does that count? :lol-sign:

The mom, Penelope:

Junior and Mitzi are full siblings out of Penelope:

Mikey, Lilly, and JJ are all full siblings out of Penelope:

Lilly acts SO much like Mitzi and they'd look just like one another if they were both short haired and black. LOL Mikey's personality is almost 100% like Juniors, even though JJ looks the most like him.
And, just for the record again...we didn't breed any of them. They were neighbor's barn cats. P, Junior, and Mitzi all moved in to our house within a year of each other, and then the kittens came along before I was able to get P spayed.

Yup, I know tons of relatives! Mine ARE all relatives LOL. Georgie too; her dad is Auggie's brother and her mom is Pepper's sister.

Payton and Pepper's family I really only know through what is on Auggie's side (not counting Pepper's sister, obviously.) And Georgie's dad is Auggie's brother. So we'll just put this in terms of Auggie: I know grandma on dad's side, dad, brother, sister, several half-brothers, one half-sister, half-aunt, one uncle, and some cousins! And both nieces obviously, LOL. I have met the woman who owned grandpa on dad's side and another uncle; unfortunately I never got to meet either of the dogs.

I've also met somebody, through agility, who hopes to breed her bitch (who I've also met) to Payton's dad next season. So if that happens I will probably end up knowing at least one of Payton's relatives on his dad's side, because I think she intends to keep a puppy for herself, and might end up knowing other puppies if they go to other agility people in our general circle. Right now I don't know anybody on Payton's dad's side AFAIK. I also have never met anybody else on Auggie's mom's side, though I am aware of some of them. Oh, and I don't think I know anybody from Pepper's dad either.

Almost all of these dogs I have met because they are also agility dogs... Auggie's mom is an outcross and came from a breeder down in Florida, so that's why I haven't met any of them. They are all down there. Both Pepper and Payton's dads came from conformation stuff... I don't think there's much performance there. So that's why I haven't met those relatives either. I do know there are some half-siblings to Payton on the Sheltie Forums but I don't really post there so I don't "know" those people or the dogs.

Well, we can forget Noods. He was bought by a collage kid who brought him home and mom said "NO", for all I know he's out of a puppy mill, his AKC papers were lost in the shuffle of cleaning out the "little house of hoardings", but of what I remember he was born in one of the other "M" states, I think Minnesota? and his dam was a "Slinky" with roman numerals after. He was registered as a "Red merle", to which he is not, he is classic plain red, with the merle factor.

Jinjo, I have no idea. I got to meet them all, dam, granddam, siblings, at approx 5 weeks and again at pick-up at 9 weeks (he was the first to leave). His sire is in the next town over, but I've never met any of the dogs from them, although I've seen the owners mother compete with her Bulldogs in the show ring. The breeder ended up keeping two puppies from his litter, the "Fluffy" (never got a name), and a brother who was given back because he didn't work out with the new owners 5 year old, they had named him Oreo, because he looked like one! She offered him to us, free, but I said NO WAY to having two puppies at once! That is as far as I know. I've seen many Corgi's that look similar enough, I do wonder if they aren't related. I no longer have a contact for his breeder, and no one knows where she is now. The owner of his sire while going to collage gave her Pems to her mother who breeds them now, but doesn't show them because she has Bulldogs. Last I knew his sire was doing great at age 12 a couple years ago. I also know that the owner of his sire has Honeyfox dogs on their side. That's about it.

Enda, well her breeder has made an entire community out of all her puppy buyers! So I get to see regular pictures of her relatives on Facebook. When we went to pick her up we got to meet Mom, dad, and Granddad. It was wet and yucky outside so she couldn't bring out all of them. As for "extended family", the Beauceron community has its very own pedigree data base! Through that, I've gotten to learn who and how much she is related to. She is closely related to one of the #1 Beauceron showing last year Beowulf des monts du lac, you may have seen him on "The national dog show" on NBC last fall. Oh, and meet her Uncle, Axel:

Riley and dad Rex:

Riley and mom Sita:

Aura and mom when she was still a baby! Funny, she still does this weird position when she is playing:

Riley's brother Nero:

And Scout:

Aura's sister Keira:

And Tirza:

And a pic from 2004 that is their dam's sire during a KNPV trial in Holland:

I think that is enough for now! :)

I've posted most of these a few times, but there's some new ones.

Finn's sire, HL's Coal. CBCA Reserve Champion last year.

Finn's dam, HL's Diamond Rio. Used to compete in open and did very well in the USBCHA standings.

Mum and dad together.

Mum in front, aunt (Coal's sister) Beauty on her right, half-brother Frost (Hawk/Rio) on her right, and Grandpa Hawk (Coal & Beauty's sire) on the far left in the back.

His breeder had a repeat breeding of his parents recently (Rio's last litter) and this is Finn's full brother Slate at about 4 months. :)

Tiffany was from a shelter, but she had puppies a few months before being given up by her owner. I'm not sure how many puppies she had, but one of them was in the shelter with her. Maltese tend to have small litters so she could have just had the one puppy.

The pup's name was Lily, and she looked like a full Maltese too. Made me wonder if the past owners were BYBers. :( She got adopted out the same day I adopted Tiffany, and I always kind of hope I'll run into her when I'm out with Tiff sometime.

Besides Harleigh's honorary brother, Duke, who lives in Australia. I just say they are honorary/long-lost siblings because they look so much alike. LOL

However, I know nothing of Harleigh's background. I know she was 1 of 8-10 puppies though! She was also the very last one to get adopted. I do wonder what her siblings look like though... I don't think that'll happen!

The only relative I really got to properly meet was Juno's grandma. She was sooo sweet and sooo excited to meet us! She reminded me of Molly. :) Typical boxer I guess lol wiggling all over trying to give kisses and putting her paw in your lap.

I briefly met her mom and she was more quiet, but she wanted to be with her puppies so I don't know if that was really representative of how she normally is.

Pictures maybe to come later when I'm not on my phone.

I don't have a clue about any of Lucy's relatives, don't know what anyone looks like...
